Spring days in Geneva

in Worldmappin2 years ago (edited)

Hi peeps!

For the better part of the last 4 years, I always stay in Geneva during spring time as I have a lot of school work at this (my university is in Geneva). However, I have to say that I love the spring in Geneva so much. From the beginning of April, the city suddenly becomes much prettier with blooming flowers, crystal blue sky and warm weather. Besides, there are many cherry blossom trees in the city and they all bloom at the same time. Nevertheless, their flowers usually last for only one week or even shorter if there is snow or rain. I remember that in April, 2019, the cherry blossoms only started to bloom for 3, 4 day, but the day after, a heavy snow came, and swept away all the flowers. It is weird to have snow in April, isn't it? Thus, whenever I saw the flowers blooming, I would immediately go and take some photos with them.

These are pink cherry blossoms in a park that are really near my apartment. It takes me only 5 minutes to walk there

Also cherry blossoms but in white. They are sooo pretty.

A perfect colour combination from the sky and the flowers. These white cherry blossoms are in Plainpalais - the center area of Geneva

Plainpalais is also a good place to take a walk, especially in Spring because the weather is so nice. After finishing the classes, I usually scroll around Plainpalais with my friends as there are my restaurants, cafe, parks there. It is a place for us to refresh ourselves after study time.

There is a very good milk tea store in Plainpalais. Hence, we usually buy some and have them in a nearby park.

Spring is also a good time to have a picnic near Geneva lake or Lac Léman. On weekends, I always prepare some foods, then bring them to the lake and have lunch with my friends. Sometimes, I also have lunch there on weekdays when I have afternoon classes. It only takes 2 bus stops to go to the lake from my university.

Such a beautiful view for lunch.

After having our lunch, me and my friends usually play some games together.

Geneva lake with the famous fountain. This fountain is called "Jet d'eau" and it is 140 meter high (retrieved from https://www.myswitzerland.com/en-id/destinations/lake-geneva/).

These are my favourite activities in Geneva during spring. What about you? What do you usually do in spring time?
