Even two and a half months of sightseeing in El Bolsón was not enough to go to all the places I wanted to see during my summer stay. Can such a small town have so many beautiful places? The answer is yes, and luckily, I had more time to continue touring around in the winter. That's when I met one of the tourist spots I had missed on my first visit: the Mallin Ahogado Waterfall ❤️.
Ni siquiera dos meses y medio de paseo en El Bolsón me fueron suficientes como para ir a todos los lugares que quería ver durante mi estadía de verano. ¿Puede un pueblo tan pequeño como este tener tantos lugares hermosos? La respuesta es sí, y por suerte, tuve más tiempo para seguir recorriendo sus alrededores en el invierno. Ahí fue cuando conocí uno de los puntos turísticos que me había faltado en mi primera visita: la Catarata de Mallin Ahogado ❤️.
One of the stops we had scheduled with our motorhome trip was in El Bolsón, within the province of Río Negro. This is as far south as we would get this time, after having been traveling over 1500 km for two weeks. There was still a week left in our trip, so we had enough time to see a few more things 😄.
Una de las paradas que teníamos programadas con nuestro viaje en el motorhome era en El Bolsón, dentro de la provincia de Río Negro. Esto es lo más al sur que llegaríamos está vez, después de haber estado viajando por más de 1500 km durante dos semanas. Todavía le quedaba una semana por delante a nuestro viaje, así que teníamos tiempo suficiente como para ver unas cuantas cosas más 😄.
Of course one of the first things I did when I arrived in El Bolsón was to visit my friends from the hostel where I was working in the summer. I had very fond memories of that stay, so I wanted to stop by and say hello. At the beginning of the year we were a group of more than 6 travelers working for the hostel, but in July there were only 2 of the people I had met. They greeted me with good energy and we immediately arranged to go for a ride together 💕.
Por supuesto que una de las primeras cosas que hice cuando llegué a El Bolsón fue ir a visitar a mis amigos del hostel en el que estuve trabajando en el verano. Tenía muy buenos recuerdos de esa estadía, así que quería pasar a saludarlos. A principio de año éramos un grupo de más de 6 viajeros trabajando para el hostel, pero en julio solo quedaban 2 de las personas que yo había conocido. Ellos me recibieron con buena energía y enseguida organizamos para hacer un paseo juntos 💕.
This waterfall is within the grounds of a campsite and to access it we were charged a small entrance fee of 1000 ARS. The place was very nice and it was a good place to share the afternoon with my travelling friends. Now in winter it was cold and the place was very wet and icy, but surely in summer this is a good place to cool off. I was very happy to have visited it regardless of the temperature that day: nature is beautiful all year round ❤️.
Esta catarata está dentro del predio de un camping y para acceder a ella nos cobraron un pequeño ticket de acceso de 1000 ARS. El lugar era muy lindo y fue un buen punto para compartir la tarde con mis amigos viajeros. Ahora en invierno hacía frío y el lugar estaba muy húmedo y helado, pero seguramente en verano este sea un buen punto para refrescarse. Me gustó mucho haberla visitado independientemente de la temperatura de ese día: la naturaleza es hermosa todo el año ❤️.
Meeting up with my summer volunteering friends once again was something I really enjoyed. In all these months, everyone lived their own interesting stories: in particular I continued to travel, but they stayed in El Bolsón and saw the town through all its stages. This winter gave me the feeling that it had not been as crowded as in the summer, so the town was rather calm and quiet. While I liked both seasons very much, I must say that I prefer it in the warm and bustling season 😃.
Reunirme con mis amigos del voluntariado del verano una vez más fue algo que disfruté mucho. En todos estos meses, cada uno vivió sus propias historias interesantes: en particular yo continué viajando, pero ellos se quedaron el El Bolsón y vieron atravesar al pueblo en todas sus etapas. Este invierno me dió la sensación de que no había estado tan concurrido como en el verano, por lo que el pueblo estaba más bien tranquilo y silencioso. Si bien ambas estaciones me gustaron mucho, debo decir que lo prefiero en la época de calor y bullicio 😃.
No matter how many times you visit a place, you will always find something new to see and do. This waterfall is very famous in and around El Bolsón, and I was glad to have had a second chance to go and see it. Nature is full of little nooks and crannies where you can spend a nice afternoon with friends: it's just a matter of finding one and going to enjoy it. Sipping "mates" and catching up with everything that has happened in more than half a year, with the sound of a waterfall in the background was something very special for us ❤️.
No importa cuantas veces visites un lugar, siempre vas a encontrar algo nuevo para ver y hacer. Esta catarata es muy famosa dentro de los alrededores de El Bolsón, y me alegró haber tenido una segunda oportunidad para ir a conocerla. La naturaleza está llena de pequeños rincones en donde se puede pasar una buena tarde con amigos: solo es cuestión de encontrar uno e ir a disfrutarlo. Tomar mates y ponerse al día con todo lo que pasó en más de medio año, con el ruido de una cascada de fondo fue algo muy especial para nosotros ❤️.

Nosotros estuvimos este verano visitando la cascada del Mallín Ahogado y nos pareció un lugar muy lindo y agradable para compartir con las niñas.
Si bien el sendero es corto, allí se respira un aire puro y la energía de la cascada es maravillosa.
Como extraño estos sitios, y esos días en que tanto disfrute de estos paisajes y espacios maravillosos.
