Although everything in Esquel was close to us because it is a small town, the place that was closest to us and that we liked to go to the most was the waterfall area. This place had everything we needed to go for a quiet walk in the afternoon, just before the light and the little heat of the day was over. To get to this place you had to go to one end of the city and go to the De Los Bandidos River, where you could walk along its side almost as far as you wanted. When autumn had arrived in this part of the world, the colours transformed the place and going to see it was quite a spectacle, ideal to take some good souvenir photos 😃.
Si bien todo en Esquel nos quedaba cerca porque se trata de una ciudad pequeña, el lugar que más cerca nos quedaba y al que más nos gustaba ir era el de la zona de la cascada. Este lugar tenía todo para ir a dar un paseo tranquilo por la tarde, justo antes de que se terminara la luz y el poco calor del día. Para llegar hasta este lugar era necesario ir hasta uno de los extremos de la ciudad y acercarse hasta el Río de Los Bandidos, en donde se podía caminar en su costado casi hasta donde quisieras. Cuando el otoño había llegado a esta parte del mundo, los colores transformaron el lugar e ir a verlo era todo un espectáculo, ideal para ir a tomar unas buenas fotos de recuerdo 😃.
During my stay here, I rarely took public transport: I didn't really need it because I really enjoyed walking through the quiet streets and it didn't take me that long to get where I wanted to go. When, after a month, a new colleague came to work with me on the same schedule as me, we arranged to have a routine of going for a walk at least three times a week at the end of our shifts. I really enjoy trekking so I liked the idea and it suited her as a way to prepare for future treks 😃.
Durante mi estadía en este lugar, pocas veces tomé el transporte público: en realidad, no me fue tan necesario porque me gustaba mucho caminar por las calles tranquilas y tampoco tardaba tanto en llegar a donde quería. Cuando después de un mes, una nueva compañera llegó a trabajar conmigo con el mismo horario que yo, nos organizamos para tener una rutina de salir a caminar al menos tres veces por semana al finalizar nuestros turnos. A mí me gusta mucho el trekking así que la idea me gustó y a ella le venía bien como para preparase para caminatas futuras 😃.
When hostel guests would ask me about half-day activities in the city, I would recommend them to go for a walk here. Located 2 km from where we were, the waterfall area was a large green area where many people go to spend the day for physical activity or just relaxing. When I had first arrived in Esquel, this was one of the first places I had visited, in an all green March, still with the colours of summer. But in late April, the landscape was changed and my surprise was great, because after only a few days of not going, everything looked different and beautiful ❤️.
Cuando los huéspedes del hostel me preguntaban por actividades de medio día en la ciudad, les recomendaba ir a caminar a este lugar. Ubicado a 2 km de donde estábamos, la zona de la cascada era un gran área verde donde mucha gente va a pasar el día para hacer actividad física o simplemente relajarse. Cuando yo recién había llegado a Esquel, este fue uno de los primeros lugares que había visitado, en un marzo todo verde, todavía con los colores del verano. Pero en un avanzado abril, el paisaje estaba cambiado y mi sorpresa fue grande, porque con solo unos días de no ir, todo se veía diferente y hermoso ❤️.
What I like about going for a walk with new people is that there is always a topic of conversation to pass the time. In all this time of travelling I met a lot of people and heard all kinds of stories that taught me a lot of life experiences. I also like to share my own story of travelling by volunteering and supporting myself financially with the cryptocurrencies I get from our Hive platform. Everyone is surprised by this and I like to explain how I do it, to the point that if someone hangs out with me a lot they end up recommending things to do that ‘I can then share on the blog’ 😂.
Lo que me gusta de salir a caminar con personas nuevas es que siempre hay un tema de conversación que permite pasar el rato. En todo este tiempo de estar viajando conocí a un montón de gente y escuché todo tipo de historias que me enseñaron muchas experiencias de vida. También me gusta compartir mi propia historia de viajar haciendo voluntariados y sosteniendome económicamente con las criptomonedas que obtengo de nuestra plataforma Hive. Todos se sorprenden de esto y me gusta explicar como lo hago, a tal punto de que si alguien se junta mucho conmigo me termina recomendando cosas para hacer y que "después puedo compartir en el blog" 😂.
On such walks with my partner we also took the opportunity to do some catharsis. As we didn't know each other before this walk, we both felt that we were able to express our feelings and thoughts about life without any problems. We also took the opportunity to talk about work in our little circle of trust, which sometimes included my other new friend Agos, with whom I had gone camping a few days before. All this non-stop talking and taking pictures in between made the day even more entertaining 😅.
En este tipo de caminatas con mi compañera también aprovechabamos para hacer varias catarsis. Como antes de este paseo no nos conocíamos, las dos sentíamos que podíamos explayarnos en nuestros sentimientos y pensamientos sobre la vida sin problemas. También aprovechabamos para cuchichear sobre el trabajo en nuestro pequeño circulo de confianza en el que también a veces estaba mi otra nueva amiga Agos, con quien había ido a acampar hacia unos días atrás. Todo ese camino de hablar sin parar y tomar fotos en el medio hacía todavía más entretenido el día 😅.

Back to the waterfall area itself, I loved walking there at that time of day. In the Rio de Los Bandidos there is a pond, which in the evening hours forms a beautiful mirror. I love the reflections in the water, so this was my favourite time to take some pictures. I suppose that in summer time this place must be full of people cooling off, but in the middle of autumn you can only admire it from afar. However, we did see some dogs jumping in as if the water wasn't freezing 😅.
Volviendo a la zona de la cascada en sí, me encantaba caminar hasta ahí a esa hora del día. En el Río de Los Bandidos hay un estanque, que en horas del atardecer forma un hermoso espejo. Me encantan los reflejos en el agua, así que esta era mi hora preferida para sacar algunas fotos. Supongo que en épocas veraniegas este lugar debe estar lleno de gente refrescándose, pero en el medio del otoño solo se puede admirar desde lejos. Sin embargo, vimos algunos perros que se metían como si el agua no estuviese helada 😅.
I liked taking these kinds of short walks as a reminder of why I chose to go on a trip to such a place. Being able to make a more relaxed and peaceful trip, where I could stay longer in each space, was something I had wanted to do for a long time and luckily I was able to do it. I found the city of Esquel charming and it was a good decision to have chosen to make a long stay there, otherwise I would have missed these little details. And the choice to go in autumn, although casual, was also surprising: I didn't expect to see such colourful landscapes 😃.
Dar este tipo de pequeños paseos me gustaba como para recordarme por qué elegí ir de viaje a un lugar como ese. Poder hacer un viaje más relajado y tranquilo, en el que pudiera quedarme más tiempo en cada espacio, era algo que quería hacer hace tiempo y por suerte pude cumplirlo. La ciudad de Esquel me pareció encantadora y fue una buena decisión haber elegido hacer una estadía larga ahí, de lo contrario me hubiese perdido estos pequeños detalles. Y la elección de ir en otoño, aunque casual, también fue sorprendente: no me esperaba ver unos paisajes tan coloridos 😃.

There is nothing like enjoying the scenery in different seasons and not having to be in a hurry to observe and enjoy the trip. There are a lot of pictures you took that could easily be excellent wallpapers, be careful that Windows doesn't steal any of your photos😂
