Hi everyone !
Has someone here ever dreamed of seeing Snow? Don't laugh at me, if I say that this was my dream before I ever got to step into the big wide world. A little girl born in a tropical country, the weather is mostly hot all year round, the sun used to be something I hated, because it brought a hot weather, especially in the summer heat. sometimes up to more than 40 Β°C and would make my body unbearable at times. At that time before I traveled and was young I watched the cartoon Snow Queen of the land. I wished I could see snow once and live in a place where it snows without seeing the sun (But now, I no longer hate the sun, I fell in love with it more and became a sun hunter, especially when it started to go down.) That's my childhood story about my dream of white snow, when I didn't know what it looked like didn't know what it felt like Until I went for it and decided it was time to see what I always wanted too. I Went to the coldest place I knew of Russia. When I got to Russia Ireached the village of Teriberka, Murmansk, it was no longer my dream ππππ
Today I am going to share with you my trip to the village of Teriberka, Murmansk City which is considered (Northernmost point) of Russia.
We woke up very early on an extremely cold winter morning in the city of Murmansk. The clock at that time struck 4 am, the temperature at this time was about negative ten degrees. Although there was a late night flight to the city, perhaps the excitement of the upcoming trip, along with the joy of seeing a city covered in snow, kept us from feeling tired.
A early morning in the city.I've marked my feet here, to save the places I've been to !
We stared the trip from early morning !
Since the road to the village is quite far from the city center, we decided to hire a taxi for the whole day. During the whole ride in the taxi, I just kept looking at the trees, the mountains covered with snow, all a white color. It looks incredibly beautiful in my eyes. And here's one of the few pictures I was in a hurry to snap.
After a few hours in the car, we arrived at a fishing village close to the Barents coast, part of the Arctic Ocean. Because it borders the North Pole, everything is frozen, except for the Barents coastline, which is the only place here that is not frozen.
Only one color in this picture : WHITE OF SNOW !
A beautiful Village seeing from beach side .
The Barents coastline, which is the only place here that is not frozen.
The village here is separate from the city, we were told by the taxi driver that people in this small coastal fishing village live by catching sharks and king crabs (I love crab). There's a restaurant that's popular with tourists for king crab, but it's always crowded so you need to book a table in advance. Unfortunately, we didn't know about this, plus we couldn't wait long since we arrived at night, so we missed the opportunity.
After walking around the fishing village, we got on the bus back to the city to have a meal here. There is a restaurant that is also quite famous for crab and steak, so it is also quite delicious. When we arrived even though we didn't have a reservation, we only waited half an hour to get in. After finishing dinner, I stopped at a bar near the hotel and ended my long day here with a glass of whiskey there, ending a trip to explore the fishing village happily.
Another plus point for you to come to this city is that the price here is quite cheap from taxis to restaurants, shopping. Especially, I was overwhelmed by the price of vodka and whiskey, I didn't expect it to sell so cheap here. I think this is a cold country, so people here love to drink vodka and live on it π
We called This Russia's northernmost city by a funny name: Combo of Snow and Vodka π
