Day two, continuation of the tour.
I already wanted to talk about the beach, and then I thought that I should also talk about the Devil's house.
It's just that I'm not interested at all, but my interest is a subjective moment, but someone is interested. People read different, tastes and interests are different.
A beach is always a beach, but the Devil's house is not a beach, and not something that is everywhere.
I am against everything that concerns the cultivation of all this devilry, I myself would never go there, I ended up there by chance, since the check-in there was included in the sightseeing tour.
Once I was already there, of course, I took a walk, took pictures, looked around.
In general, the logic is clear, I'm talking about the Devil's Place, which is one of the tourist places where tourists are brought during sightseeing tours
How did this place come about?
Grand Cayman Island, part of the Cayman Islands, is part of the Cayman underwater ridge (you can read more about the origin of the island on the Internet), which are located at the junction of two tectonic plates that are in constant motion, which leads to frequent earthquakes in this area.
That is, the islands rose above sea level due to some kind of earthquake many thousands of years ago.
I wrote all this as an introduction, so that you understand where on the island there is an interesting place, in the form of a large array of jagged rocks. This is all the result of earthquakes and the origin of the island.
This rock mass is located in the northwest of the island. One of the discoverers, seeing this place, called it Hell (Hell), which means "Hell". Simply on emotional impressions from seen.
There are such places on other islands, for example, in Hawaii.
But the inhabitants of Gran Cayman turned out to be very enterprising, and created a tourist place out of this bare rock mass.
What did they do.
They put a house there, absolutely unpretentious.
Apart from the house, there is practically nothing there.
They painted it with different inscriptions, for example, like this ...
They put different figurines of the devil there. They painted everything in different red colors, hung up posters with infernal symbols. A souvenir shop and a post office were opened inside the house.
And - discovered a "gold mine".
Now locals paint their cars red, decorate the buildings around with symbols.
The house inside is a souvenir shop, they sell T-shirts, caps, magnets, postcards with views of the city, the island. Nothing special, I didn’t even take pictures, just an ordinary souvenir, just with devilish symbols.
Here you can take a picture with the devil, buy a T-shirt with the inscription "I'll see you in Hell" and send a letter home from Hell.
And you can also park in the parking lot for the devils (devil's parking only) (only for the devil).
Once again I will say, I am very critical of the development and advertising of such things.
It's best not to joke around with this.
But it is what it is.
Many people love this topic.
But the view of the rocks rising from the ground is quite interesting.
Indeed, it reminds me of a hellish place. You can’t walk on them, you won’t go there, I think, that’s why there are observation platforms from which you can take pictures of this land.

No one has a question why these stones are black?
And I will answer you.
All these sharp teeth are a mixture of dolomite and limestone. The rocks were supposed to be white. Last but not least, gray and white. But this area (approximately the size of half a football field) was under water for a long time, where algae lived, which made the rocks black, and natural erosion has already given the rocks a bizarre jagged shape.
The best artist and sculptor is nature.
I never cease to admire and wonder how it is possible to make any trifle interesting for tourists out of the blue. In fact, it is, there would be a desire to attract tourists, and there will always be a reason and a place.
And here we also saw a jaguana on a tree, which was bursting leaves, completely merging with the green leaves. How did we notice it? I don’t even know, in my opinion, one of the tourists saw it, and we already came up to see what they saw there.

And on the road you don’t need to look for this little jaguana, too bright green on gray asphalt.
We stood here for about half an hour. Someone bought a souvenir, someone sent a postcard, someone, like us, walked around the neighborhood and took pictures of the inhabitants.
Oh, I almost forgot. There is also a museum room inside the house, with various historical ship and local elements of everyday life.
Here is what I have to say about this place.
After stopping here, we drove further to the beach, where we spent 2 hours relaxing, swimming and having lunch.

a fascinating place 😃 coming from a country mostly of catholics/christians, places are these are next to none and will never set foot here (even too scary costumes during Halloween in some places are frowned upon), so being able to visit a place like these outside the stigma that i grew up being surrounded with will be quite interesting 😄 thank you for sharing about your trip here!
