yikes, rough day indeed, worth every step tho... I think I did 20 000 steps max ever, that was a lot and my legs were like jello. I try to keep it 15 km return or under now.

If you're at Lake O'Hara (by bus) and you just do Opabin or Lake Oesa hike it would be under 15000, if you have to choose one and don't want to walk on the ledge between them, go to Opabin. I still recommend entering the lottery for the bus, even just walking around Lake O'Hara is amazing and they have a nice tea house.
I like tea houses! Maybe I can do both in separate days. The bus lottery is a great idea, i had no idea. Thanks for the tip and I will look into that option. I would probably want to see Opabin. reminds me of the Consolation Lake Hike near Moraine Lake.
