Hello everyone. How are you today? I hope all is well with you and your family. In this post I'll take you to see another temple in my country. This temple is called Wat Matu Kharam. Wat Matu Kharam is the 112th temple I want to share with everyone.
The brief history of Wat Matu Kharam. Wat Matu Kharam was officially permitted to be established as a temple in 1927 or 98 years ago. And received royal granting of the land to a particular temple by announcing in a royal decree in 1955 or 70 years ago.
Wat Matu Kharam is located in Mae Ai District, Chiang Mai Province. My wife and I visited Wat Matukaram last month. We traveled on the main road (Highway 107) to Mae Ai District. The atmosphere of our journey this time.

We plan to go on Thursday. Because there's a Thursday market before reaching Wat Matu Kharam too. It's a market that's only open in the mornings on Thursdays. This market sells food, ingredients, clothing, snacks, and more. So we stopped to buy breakfast and ate it in the car before going to the temple.

When we arrived at Wat Matu Kharam, we saw the temple sign first. This temple sign made of bricks with spread cement on bricks and beautifully painted.

There are two entrances to the temple. Each temple entrance has a arch and two archs are different. The first entrance to the temple has a large arch. This arch is made of bricks with spread cement on bricks, beautifully painted and decorated. The top of this arch is a small pagoda. This arch looks beautiful and grand.

And there are two lion statues between the arch too. The lion statues is maked in the Lanna art style (Northern Thai art). Lion statues and the outside of this temple with a rural village.

Another entrance with a simple arch. And there are two lion statues.

Inside the temple is a wide concrete courtyard. There are large trees. But we like a tree in front of the temple, its tall and big. Looks outstanding.

And when we enter the temple through the first entrance, on the right there are two spirit houses.

Near the two spirit houses there is a small pavilion. Inside this small pavilion is a buddha Image. This buddha image is called Phra Chao Than Jai (the buddha Image of Instant wishes).

But the left of the first entrance is a long pavilion used for religious ceremonies.

Near the Phra Chao Than Jai pavilion is a small statue park. This statue park has many statues. But the main statue is a buddha image in the royal attire in the attitude of subduing mara. There are three staircases on three sides leading up to buddha image in the royal attire in the attitude of subduing mara. And the railing of the three staircases was the shape like the serpent, but without the head. And there are small statues of deities surrounding this buddha image.

This small statue park, there are also other statues. Such as the statues of the hungry ghost, these hungry ghosts are tall ghosts.

Ganesha statue.

Statue of Phra Sivali.

Statue of a hermit and two cow statues.

Behind the statue park is a buddha image hall (viharn). This buddha image hall (viharn) is built of bricks with spread cement on bricks. Painted and decorated with patterns in the Lanna art style. There is an entrance staircase with two serpent statues on the railing. And there are two giant statues.

The inside of the buddha image hall (viharn) is decorated with beautiful patterns and oil paintings about buddhist. The main buddha image is a buddha image in the attitude of subduing mara. There are small buddha images and statues of monks too.

The right of the buddha image hall (viharn) are a ordination hall (ubosot) and a pagoda. The ordination hall (ubosot) is built of bricks with spread cement on bricks. Painted and decorated with patterns in the Lanna art style too. But the pattern is different from the buddha image hall (viharn). And the ordination hall (ubosot) is smaller than the buddha image hall (viharn).

The pagoda at this temple is gold color and smaller than those at other temples we have visited.

The left of the buddha image hall (viharn) are buildings for the monks, a wooden pavilion for sitting and resting. And a bell tower

Behind the temple, there is a small pavilion with a statue of Buddha. And a medium-sized pavilion with the buddha images. In addition, back area is also section containing the monks' living quarters.

Finally, inside the temple area you can also enjoy the atmosphere of a rural village.

You are very welcome @kriang3teejoe! it was well deserved. ☀️
We are already looking forward to reading more about your adventures!
I've never been in Thailand but I've had thai food (so googd!) I've heard their music, I know a few things about their religion and I've seen some typical dances in cultural encounters here in Chile and - curious thing - when I think about Thailand I imagine cities just like the one you showed us, so full of colors, of golden details, statues and flavors... Thank you for sharing that side of the world.
Excelentes fotografías.
