Hey there! Summer is not done yet here in the Philippines. Although technically speaking, the Philippines does not have a summer season, as it only has two seasons: rainy and dry. However, people here call it summer to make it sound more appealing. Haha. The rainy season usually starts in the month of June and ends in November. However, due to climate change, there are days when it rains for the whole day or for days.
May is almost over, but it's not too late to hit the beach with your friends, even if it's just for a weekend, right? Whether you're with friends or by yourself, why not, right?
Story Time ...
During my elementary school days, summer vacations were eagerly anticipated. My family would gather and set sail on our boat, seeking out the ideal beach where we could bask in the sun and splash in the crystal-clear waters. Our beloved destination was the beach that now hosts the remarkable Golden Sands Destination Resorts, located in Brgy. Suba, Maya, Daanbantayan, Cebu.
Little did we know that the tranquil shores of Sandoval would later transform into the breathtaking Golden Sands Destination Resorts. What was once a free-spirited playground for us has evolved into a haven for travelers seeking a blend of relaxation and luxury. Golden Sands now offers an array of amenities and comforts while preserving the natural beauty that captivated us as children.
In those carefree days, we lovingly referred to the beach as Sandoval, though the origins of the name remained a mystery. Speculation led us to believe it might be linked to the owner of the land. Regardless, the name Sandoval became synonymous with laughter, joy, and endless beach adventures.
A Warm Welcome
As I entered the resort's entrance, the friendly staff greeted me with a refreshing welcome drink, setting the tone for the warm and hospitable service that awaited me. The attentive staff made me feel instantly at ease, ensuring that my stay would be as comfortable as possible. To add to the convenience and luxury, the staff graciously escorted me to my accommodation using their golf cart, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable arrival experience.
I chose to stay at one of the Glamping huts, an ideal blend of comfort and nature. Priced at 4,000 pesos per night, including a delectable complimentary breakfast, the glamping hut provided a cozy and well-appointed space.
With its own toilet and bathroom, as well as air conditioning, it catered to my every need.
The best part was its prime location just in front of the beach, offering breathtaking views and easy access to the sandy shores. The convenience of being just steps away from the beach heightened the overall experience.
During my visit, Golden Sands had a shallow swimming pool primarily enjoyed by kids. Although modest in size, the pool served as a refreshing retreat for a leisurely dip or a fun-filled splash.
The resort boasted two restaurants, each offering a unique ambiance. One restaurant was situated near the beach, allowing guests to savor delicious meals while enjoying the soothing sound of the waves. The second restaurant, located opposite the beach, provided a serene dining experience near a man-made lake or lagoon.
It was in this picturesque setting that I indulged in the complimentary breakfast, surrounded by nature's tranquility.
Exciting Freebies
Golden Sands Destination Resorts took hospitality a step further by providing exciting freebies to enhance the guest experience. As part of the package, I had the opportunity to enjoy a 30-minute kayaking session on the lagoon.
Exploring the calm waters and surrounding nature in a kayak added an adventurous touch to my stay, leaving me with unforgettable memories.
My stay at Golden Sands Destination Resorts in Maya, Daanbantayan, Cebu was a delightful journey down memory lane. The warm welcome, convenient glamping hut, and enchanting beachfront location provided an idyllic setting for relaxation and reconnecting with nature. From childhood reminiscences to the exciting freebies, every aspect of my stay at Golden Sands was truly special. If you're seeking a memorable and nostalgic getaway, this charming resort is the perfect choice.
