Helen Lake

Hello Hivers

Helen Lake

This is a popular 12Km hike located in Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada.

It is a steep uphill path, with peeks out of the forest along the way, with stunning views of mountains, glaciers and green blue lakes.

Bow Lake and Crowfoot Glacier

Eventually the climb levels off, and you notice the gradual reduction in trees, their size and alpine habitat, that would be filled with....

Cirque Peak

flowers in the Summer months. This was the most enjoyable part of the walk, with great visibility perfect weather this day.

Eventually you pass the tree line and it is wide open spaces, and Helen Lake in the distance.

Helen Lake is a great spot for a break and a snack, with Cirque Peak towering overhead.

I didn't climb up Cirque, that will be next time, but I did climb up to the ridge and got a view of Helen Lake from above.

There are a few different options and trails, to the East is Dolomite Pass.

One of the premier hikes in Banff, especially when the wildflowers are in bloom, next time I will arrive earlier and try to reach the summit of Cirque Peak.

Thanks for coming along on my hike to Helen Lake.

Recently, I was not able to take any trips alone. I mean not that I don't like company but it feels great when you get to explore various things and go through situations alone. While the place is really beautiful. This 12 km I suppose are really worth it. All those places and al those scenarios will make up for any tiredness. It's like everything in one small package. Thanks for sharing the trip with us!

Thank you! It was worth it, and few people venture on a hike like that. A survey was done at a popular tourist area and 80% of them didn’t leave the paved path…missing the best and most scenic parts…

Nice, this one has been on my radar for awhile. Next year for sure!!

Thank You @daveks absolutely it is a must do. I will go back next year and bring a small pair of binoculars, I'd like to scan the meadows. Also climb as far as I can up the Cirque.

Why is someone posting your content on twitter? They did the same to one of mine....

The Jesus.. account? It is part of the "normal" way to promote hive on twitter. I also tweet some of his stuff as well. That being said, if you prefer that not to happen then I'm sure if you let him know, he will not do it. If you add the #posh and tweet out yourself, you can earn hive and posh tokens.

Ok, thank you… I didn’t understand what it was all about…
I just saw he was using my content to earn rewards… lol..

Thank you @outdoor.life I appreciate that.

You're welcome.

Dolomite pass or the second to last photo looks like a dinosaur of some kind! A stunning place and on my list of trips across the Atlantic some time.

Thank you @nicklewis it is a special place. Banff is a national treasure.

In these photographs, the mountains look very imposing and transmit great strength, without a doubt that Canada hides great and beautiful landscapes, where the cliffs, the snow, the lakes and the trees generate dreamlike scenarios.

Thank you so much! It is an amazing place, I am lucky to call it home...I appreciate your kind comments!
