There are a lot of undiscovered yet waiting to unveil its beauty. I thought, I knew my hometown already but naah! There are some secret spots that I haven't explored yet. Together with my hike buddies, we went to Lib-og, Salag, Tabogon to visit the miraculous Birhen Sa Lib-og or what they called Headless Mary. A certain statue was discovered by the devotees of the Virgin Mary. Around its vicinity was a common cave with holes that kept producing stalactites and stalagmites and of course! The astounding beauty of the sea.
Lately, we have been preoccupied with school activities and paperwork so as a reward to ourselves, we agreed to pay a visit to some of the caves in Somosa (I will share it the next time) and continue to the miraculous statue of Mary with an extraordinary and exceptional view of the ocean.
So allow me to share with you our quick escape from reality with a hike.
We started walking around 11 AM from the caves we had visited. We agreed to have our lunch near the sea so we could see something different today.
A simple yet productive path we took was a field with corn seedlings and not just that, we saw some spring onions, vegetable vines, and root crops too. I can't estimate how far we have walked but I can't imagine how fast we were since our stomach was growling already. I guess 30 minutes of hiking under the scorching heat of the sun was quite satisfying.
Other parts of going there, were shaded as well. As usual, Ma'am Smile guided us the way since she was here last year. We almost lost our way but she reminisced all those marks she went, either way, all those paths would lead to paradise.
And just like that, we made our way to this magnificent paradise. I can almost see it. Behold!
Lib-og, Salag, Tabogon
I was SPEECHLESS in awe when I first saw this beautiful creation! I was like agggrrrrhh!!! It's tempting me to jump! OMG! Okay, I'll just compose myself first.
I can't believe what I saw it's because I've been to some seas yet I have never seen like this before like it's untouched! Its turquoise color tempted us to swim however some of us didn't bring extra shirts.
The story behind this scenic beauty of nature was a miraculous statue of the Virgin Mary. Salag is known for its numerous caves yet, this place is not an exception since it shows marks of stalactites and stalagmites. Stalagmite forms upward so that it resembles like a statue of Mary but it's headless. People discovered this image and so some other people visited this place every year to celebrate its day of discovery. Later on, they put this image with flowers, candles, and a box for those who want to give donations and tips. But I wondered why today the statue has a head already. I don't know the reason but as I've heard and done some research, it's headless and no certain head just like today. Hmmm... I wonder🤔. Maybe someone can answer this.
As soon we arrived, we immediately ate our lunch for we had so much more to explore here. After a couple of minutes, random people we met swimming and grilling some meat for their lunch too. Others were swimming already. Some of our buddies got tempted, so they swam.
We're truly lost in paradise as I can't imagine there's still a hidden gem in Tabogon! No wonder people would likely visit this place as it's abundant in everything.
The rocks and boulders seemed flawless however when you look closer, it's tiny sharp and it's different from other rock's texture.
I just love the view and everything here! It's a paradise for me🥰. The never-ending taking of photos doesn't go wrong for it's proof of liking the place. Yey.
Look at that water! It's really tempting me to jump! This adventure would never be complete without dipping into the sea. But on second thought, I would be experiencing a cold or worse sick if I had to. So I declined the temptation🥹. Maybe the next time.
I enjoyed so much with this adventure and have learned some of the traditions and stories about this place. Truly I'm lost in paradise🥰. I guess that's it Hivers, thank you for reading this far. God speed!

I haven't visited the Headless Mary yet. This has become the topic of one of my friends who is a writer (Bisaya lit) and she keeps coming back, to know and gather the comprehensive information on the history of this religious icon.
Oh really madam?! She should have gathered by now? What a nice initiative. You should visit soon Madam!
Wow (๑♡⌓♡๑) the sea looks amazing! Even though I don't like sea, its beauty is inviting enough to persuade me to take a dip!
