The Montalbán valley is a place of frequent dawns with dense fog, this has to do with masses of hot and humid air that penetrate the valley coming from the depression of Lake Valencia (about 70 km away to the southeast) during the early morning almost always. The cycle seems to repeat itself throughout the year regardless of whether we are in the dry season or in the middle of the rainy season. So, on average we have one out of every three mornings a year with fog, this is something that as a photographer I appreciate and enjoy very much... My post today is based on my most recent ride (this time by bike and not walking) through pastures, crops and old thoroughbred horse breeding ranches abandoned since the late 90s.... Come with me and watch as the fog transforms the landscape into a charming postcard carousel...
Some portions of this route are about 5 KM from the town of Montalbán, so I left my house a little before 6:00 AM and opted for my old (and apparently unbreakable) bicycle which has belonged to me for about 22 years. Usually I would walk here, but I wanted to get here as quickly as possible and be here taking pictures for the maximum amount of time before the sun climbed over the horizon and warmed up evaporating this fabulous fog. This is a place which usually looks absolutely different in sunlight than it does when it is submerged in morning fog...
The visual experience that this tour offers under these weather conditions is simply breathtaking. The density of the fog can vary from one moment to another or just looking in another direction, the colors, the contrast and obviously the visual elements, build a wide range of visions ideal for taking pictures. Even the drama of the ruined outbuildings of the old racehorse stud farm (it was called “Haras el Bosque” by the way) provide the opportunity to take out-of-the-ordinary photos in places like this...
The convergence between nature and the human in this place is another thing worth to experience. I knew places like “Haras El Bosque” in full operation and I used to visit with my late father (a great fan of horse racing and an excellent horseman) its installations, which produced great winning horses both in national and international races. Back then, coming here as a child was like visiting a thematic park, I remember it perfectly and I also remember the owners and caretakers of this place. With the passing of time and the arrival of the economic crisis, the place was abandoned and its owners went to Germany, as I heard, because they were originally from that country.
The actual ownership of these lands is somewhat uncertain, but for the purposes of us villagers, passage is still free. Also the pastures and corrals are often used by people to graze their cattle or bring their horses.... But I prefer to come here to take pictures, exercise and breathe fresh air!.... Perhaps this would be an excellent place for tourism development for the municipality, but that doesn't seem to be happening in the short term.
Thank you very much for your visit and appreciation!
¡Muchas gracias por pasar y apreciar!

No doubt the fog gives a special touch to all those places, it makes it look a little more lonely and shady, with a melancholic and yet beautiful air. I really liked your photos and the place. I am from Venezuela, but I had not heard of those sunrises bathed in fog in Montalban.
:) Thank you very much for visiting and appreciating my content, @jemima1996 friend.... Montalbán is perhaps one of the places in the central region of our country with the greatest diversity of natural landscapes and climatic variations in a very small area... Unfortunately, few people know about it and it is something that has never been exploited for tourism :(... But I have enjoyed it here taking lots of photos! ;)... Thanks again!

Well, thanks to your publication. At least I know about that site and the truth would be great to know about it.

I think you have already make a post about the stabel in the past isn't it? and this time a closer looks at the building. too sad that the owner left. But how about the ownership of the land? is it still belong to the German guy?
!PIZZA !VSC
:) Yes @ekavieka friend, in some of my previous posts I took pictures in which you could see that old stable in the distance, this time I got closer (It's fun to photograph it in the fog and that day I had more time to move around there)... Regarding the owners, very little is known, they left years ago when the economic crisis began and these properties were "expropriated" by the national government and given to people to work them, but apparently that plan didn't work out so well and much of it remains idle... That's the little I know about it :(... But it's ideal for taking pictures! hahaha :))
Thanks for appreciating and comment!
