On my recent trip to Rhode Island, my wife and I visited Newport on a couple of separate days. These first couple of pics are looking both directions from Ocean Ave.
These are some of the ships at Fort Adams State Park. It was unbelievable how many ships they packed into this marina.
This is a tapestry at Rough Point. Rough Point was the home of Doris Duke the heiress. The additional indoor pics are also at Rough Point.
Here's a shot of the red tide at Easton's Beach
This cave is at the base of the 40 steps along the Newport Cliff Walk.
This is in the gardens at Rough Point.
This final shot is a picture of the Cliff Walk from the grounds of Rough Point.
Which picture do you think should have been the cover shot?
I love Newport, the city is beautiful. There are a couple of streets where you can find food and souvenirs. I have enjoyed renting scooters and Slingshots to explore the town in. There's plenty of exercise if you want to do the Cliff Walk.
I mentioned Flo's Clam Shack in my last post. Their food was so good that I came to this location too. It's technically a Middletown, RI address, but it's right at the end of Easton's Beach.
