(ESP/ENG) Mi experiencia en los Carnavales de Guanta 2022 // My experience in Guanta Carnivals 2022

Hola amigos de Hive! El día de hoy vengo a contarles un poco de mi experiencia en los carnavales de este año en mi ciudad. Es una tradición que lleva, si no me equivoco, más de 40 años celebrándose en esta localidad, excluyendo el año pasado, donde por motivo de pandemia no se celebro.

Estoy hablando de Guanta, Edo. Anzoátegui-Venezuela, si no te suena este lugar, puede que hayas visto la noticia, cuando en el año 2016, el cantante Maluma vino a esta localidad, causando disturbios entre la multitud, para poder ver su concierto que era de entrada gratuita, por motivo de las festividades de este lugar.

I am talking about Guanta, Edo. Anzoátegui-Venezuela, if you are not familiar with this place, you may have seen the news, when in the year 2016, the singer Maluma came to this town, causing riots among the crowd, to be able to see his concert which was free admission, due to the festivities of this place.

Pues año tras año, era tradición realizar el acostumbrado desfile con trajes de fantasía, comparsas, carros alegóricos y posterior a eso un conciertos con artistas locales, nacionales e internacionales, volviéndose una de las festividades más importantes del oriente del país, atrayendo a muchos turistas.

Year after year, it was a tradition to perform the customary parade with costumes, troupes, floats and after that a concert with local, national and international artists, becoming one of the most important festivities in the east of the country, attracting many tourists.

Si te lo preguntas, sí, yo tuve la oportunidad de disfrutar de este concierto, donde la experiencia fue toda una locura, desde el poder ingresar, hasta los disturbios de una multitud de personas que querían ingresar, pero no pudieron por la capacidad del estadio, una anécdota un poco larga. Pero eso no es de lo que les quería hablar en este post.

If you're wondering, yes, I had the opportunity to enjoy this concert, where the experience was crazy, from being able to enter, to the riots of a crowd of people who wanted to enter, but could not because of the capacity of the stadium, a little long anecdote. But that's not what I wanted to talk about in this post.

Como ya antes les mencione, en 2020 un mes antes de que se decretara la pandemia en el país, se celebraron estos carnavales, al año siguiente no, por la amenaza del covid-19 y este año fue que decidieron retomar esta tradición, con muchas expectativas.

As I mentioned before, in 2020, a month before the pandemic was declared in the country, these carnivals were celebrated, the following year they were not, due to the threat of covid-19, and this year they decided to resume this tradition, with high expectations.

Les puedo decir que estos carnavales no fue lo que los locales y visitantes, estábamos esperando y a lo que estamos acostumbrados, desde su organización hasta las fiestas posteriores al desfile, no fueron las mejores, comparando con años anteriores. Pero puedo rescatar de estas fiestas, su desfile, a pesar de lo que muchos pudimos pensar en cuanto a presupuesto o cualquier otra cosa, las personas encargadas de cada una de las fantasías, lograron hacer un gran trabajo, exhibiendo su talento con cada uno de los trajes, que quedaron muy bien y llamaron la atención de todos los espectadores.

I can tell you that these carnivals were not what the locals and visitors were expecting and what we are used to, from its organization to the parties after the parade, were not the best, compared to previous years. But I can rescue from these parties, their parade, despite what many of us might think in terms of budget or anything else, the people in charge of each of the fantasies, managed to do a great job, exhibiting their talent with each of the costumes, which were very good and caught the attention of all spectators.

Me disculpo, ya que por estar entretenido viendo el desfile y la interrupción de algunas personas, no pude tomar muchas fotos.

I apologize, because of being entertained watching the parade and the interruption of some people, I was not able to take many pictures.

Una de las cosas que más me gusta ver es una banda juvenil que con su música da apertura al desfile, todos los años ese es uno de los atractivos, también se presentan agrupaciones que al ritmo de la samba le dan vida al desfile.

One of the things I like to see the most is a youth band that opens the parade with its music, every year that is one of the attractions, there are also groups that give life to the parade to the rhythm of the samba.

Este año no fue de los mejores, ya que en esta localidad se está acostumbrado, que cuando es carnaval, es como una semana de fiesta 😂 literalmnete, entre el casting de las candidatas al reinado, su presentación a la prensa, el día del reinado, los días de desfile con sus respectivas fiestas o conciertos y el fin de semana siguiente a carnaval, se realiza la octavita de carnaval, un día adicional, destinado a desfilar por última vez y anunciar a los ganadores del desfile, realizando al otro día el entierro de carnaval, donde entre música, agua y juegos, se le da fin a estas festividades.

This year was not one of the best, since in this town it is customary, that when it is carnival, it is like a week of celebration 😂 literally, between the casting of the candidates for the reign, their presentation to the press, the day of the reign, the parade days with their respective parties or concerts and the weekend after carnival, the octavita de carnaval, an additional day, destined to parade for the last time and announce the winners of the parade, and the next day the burial of carnival, where between music, water and games, these festivities end.

Este año de esos 9 días de fiesta, solo se disfrutaron 4, el reinado, 2 días de desfile y la octavita; en los días de desfile, las fiestas posteriores no cumplieron con las expectativas de los asistentes, aun así siempre hay un siguiente año, otra oportunidad de mejorar y de seguir trabajando por una tradición que ya es parte de esta localidad y que año tras año llamala atención de locales, como visitantes que disfrutan de los imcreibles carnavales que se reealizan en este lugar.

This year of those 9 days of celebration, only 4 were enjoyed, the reign, 2 days of parade and the octavita; in the days of parade, the subsequent parties did not meet the expectations of the attendees, even so there is always a next year, another opportunity to improve and to continue working for a tradition that is already part of this town and that year after year calls the attention of locals, as visitors who enjoy the incredible carnivals that are reealizan in this place.
