"Floral Beauty"

Good afternoon to all of you Hivers out there ! I do hope that that your Wednesday evening is a great one. I absolutely had to share this beautiful flower with you all. Never have I had a flower that was so incredibly easy to grow. These beautiful creatures of the garden come back on their own every year for me. I originally bought a little packet of seeds for somewhere around $1.29... and I didn't get around to planting them that year. I planted a few the following year and they sprang up within the week ! Now here we are 3 or 4 years later. I never collect the seeds anymore unless a friend wants some, because they come back year after year, self culturvating its own little seeds. When they start to sprout 🌱 I give it water and a little plant food. I dont pull the soil up around it. Nothing else except talk sweet to it...lol
These flowers grow on a hardy stalk with a vast amount of deep green leaves. The older it is, the more of the underside of the leaves and stems grow
Soft thorns, which harden over time. The plant itself can grow anywhere from three to four feet in height. The flower tops remind me of mop heads. They come in colors ranging from reds to purples with a variety of lighter hues of the same color throughout the head. As the stock grows more flower petals grow and whats left behind turns into multiple seed pods. Each pod is filled with little tiny black seeds. After the pod dies and turns brown and dries out the seed shell splits open and spills its content out on the ground and into the wind. They are absolutely beautiful and make very good part of a flower garden. I grow mine in pots since there's way too much sand where I live & it may do fine but I don't want to take the chance of putting them in the ground just to watch the wind blow them down.
