Hello everyone! It's me Julia again, and I'm back with another story from our latest adventure. This time, let me tell you all about the amazing date my partner and I had in Bacolod City. It was a break from our usual hangouts in Iloilo but it turned out to be one of our best outings yet!
So as we heard about this super old mansion in Bacolod and we were totally intrigued. It was built way back in 1920 which is made with super unique and full of history. We thought it would be the perfect spot for a chill and romantic date.
But let me tell you, finding this place was not easy because we are both not familiar of this place. Bacolod City has some tricky streets, and we got lost a few times. Thank goodness for Google Maps or we might still be wandering around! Also for more information about how we get there,we started our journey from the Bacolod Port then hopped on a tricycle to SM City Bacolod. From there, we took another ride to Punta Taytay and finally made it to the Old City Hall. A taxi ride later, and we were almost there!
When we finally arrived at the mansion, we were blown away. It was huge and looked like something out of a movie! The design was so cool that you can see the house was very antique and you could just feel the history in the air. Stepping onto the grounds felt like stepping back in time.
The best part was the garden. It was so peaceful, with ponds and trees everywhere. We found a spot under a big tree and just chilled there for a while. It was the perfect place to talk and relax together.Of course, we had to take a bunch of pictures. The mansion was so beautiful from every angle and we wanted to remember every moment. We explored every corner also taking in all the little details that made it special. And they have also a lot of souvenirs available there. We bought it because it's my hubby to have a remembrance for each place that we go.
As we said goodbye to Ruins Bacolod, we felt grateful for the chance to experience such a cool place. It was like a little oasis in the middle of the city, and we'll definitely be back!
And let me tell you about the backstory of the mansion,it's pretty heartbreaking. The Ruins Mansion was built by a guy named Don Mariano for his wife, Cora Maria, after she passed away. It was meant to be a tribute to their love, but sadly, it was destroyed during World War II. Even though it's just ruins now, it still stands as a reminder of their love story.
