Last April 9, 2022, we had an unforgettable outing in the Northern part of Cebu. With me are my colleagues that are unstoppable in terms of Travel even typhoons cannot stop them from traveling. For your information, on April 9 there is a Tropical Storm named MEGI with a local name here in the Philippines AGATON that enters the Philippine area of responsibility that day and it will pass by the place we were Traveling on. Yes, we know it but we still continue. That's how crazy we are to just have an outing and visit this beach called SUBA.

This underrated beautiful beach is located in the northern part of Cebu in the municipality of Daanbantayan. A silent spot of the island that most travelers have not yet discovered. If you are looking for a quiet place to chill with a beautiful beach vibe, this is perfect for you. Few tourists will be seen in the place so you can surely relax and unwind in this place. But you don't have to worry about the accommodation there are a lot of cozy resorts you can stay in on this beach you can even search it even on Facebook. I don't know yet this place until my colleagues tell us about it. Glad that she introduce it to us and we discover this part of Cebu.

HOW TO REACH SUBA BEACH?

From Cebu City, you can commute by Bus. Starting at Cebu North Bus Terminal bound to Daanbantayan or Maya Port. The Cost is β‚±300 - β‚±400 only. From Maya Port, you will ride a motorcycle heading to Sitio Suba of Barangay Maya, Daanbantayan Cebu, don't worry it is just a short ride. it will only cost you β‚±40 - β‚±50 only. It will take you four hours to reach the destination. I know, it's a long ride from the City but I promise it is all worth it to visit.

On our way on this extreme Travel, we rented out a car worth β‚± 4,800 for 24 hours. It is convenient for us to have this so we can control our time and less hustle of travel. We also have belongings as our supply for this outing so I think it's a good move. We left the city by 5:00 am in the morning and reached our destination by 10:00 am.

The weather is good and calm when we left the city so we didn't bother about the Storm but halfway through our travel, the rain starts pouring with minimal wind. We look to each if we still continue this but seems this storm is nothing to have a travel. I know in myself that it is risky to travel this time but it is weird that I am also excited to experience this kind of Travel.

We also dropped by the Public Market of Bogo City Cebu to buy some stuff and food we need for this travel. In this GIF we just finished buying the things we need and arrange them at the back of the Car. And at a few minutes, we headed to the place we were staying in for this travel. By the way, we will stay in the Ancestral house of one of our colleagues Joji. I made a separate blog about this ancestral house so you can know more about it. Just visit the link below.

It is gloomy when we arrive at the place of Joji, we think the Tropical storm didn't pass by our place yet but the wind starts breezing so we didn't need to calm down. But of course, the Enjoyment of this travel must surpass our fair of this tropical storm.

This is us approaching the house with a big smile 😊

Over-looking view from the roof deck of the house

The place is beautiful, it has a province vibe that makes you feel relaxed. The front yard of the house is a wide vacant lot of green grass that is downhill going to the ocean. Though it's a gloomy day the beauty of the place is not shaded with dark color. It is beautiful indeed. Fortunately, the ancestral house is just above Suba beach and it's more convenient for us.

Look at this view, I think it's obvious in our faces that we enjoy the moment 🀣 and it gives a smile on our faces even if Im just the only good-looking one here (kidding πŸ˜…).

After taking a lot of photos of this overlooking view. We go directly to the beach even though the wind is chilling.

At first, we hesitate to dip into the ocean cause it really cold hahaha and the wind is strong which makes the waves hump the shoreline. But salute to this two-man for breaking the hesitation and taking the big waves.

The beach had a stretch white shoreline, but I observe that the area where we standing is not sand something a rocky shoreline, unlike the picture Joji's sent to us before. As per Joji, It was white sand before but there are people getting the sand on the shoreline illegally in exchange for money. I was sad to hear that information, that their still a lot of people who don't give importance to the environment and do such things for personal purposes.

I walk around to find out if all the shorelines have the same situation. Thank God that their still sand in the other parts of the beach. I also find out where the resorts on this beach are located like the SUBA BEACH AND NIPA HUT .

I call out my colleagues to move into the area where theirs still sand, so we can sit down and even lay down on this white beach. Hoping those illegal activities will be stopped and the government will be informed about it. Anyway, let's talk about a happy moment.

We stay in this area for almost 3 hours, we swim, run, jump, and even did unusual poses for Instagram hahaha. I was surprised by these two colleges of mine about their flexibility. They really did a good stunt and all I can do is a jump shoot πŸ˜….

But more importantly, we all had a good time on this beach, this moment is unforgettable, we make an enjoyable and lively time on SUBA BEACH even though there is a tropical storm. After hours of staying on the beach, we notice that heavy rain start dropping and the wind is getting stronger so we decided to go back to the house for our safety purposes.

Im proud of ourselves for overcoming our fair for our enjoyment on the Beach of Suba and Finishing DAY 1 in this adventure according to our plan. But our DAY 2 adventure is canceled which is supposed to be an Island Hopping in the islets of MALAPASCUA ISLAND.

The weather is getting worst due to this Topical storm MEGI which makes all transportation going to the island be canceled. So we start packing our things and decided to go home to avoid the storm and to ease the worry of everyone.

IMG_0411.JPG

Discovering this underrated beach in these circumstances is a pleasure to me. Hoping I will get back here with good weather to see its true beauty. Glad I made a happy memory here.
