Saturday 3:10 pm, it's time to go and pick up our little last one at school (due to the Covid and closed schools, many Saturdays are used to make up for missed hours).
Phuket Town, 4pm, once we have picked up our boy and given that it's a wonderful day, the decision is made to go a little bit to the west coast of Phuket Island to see if there are many people.
Samedi 15H10, il est grand temps de partir chercher notre petit dernier à l'école (à cause du Covid pas mal de samedi sont utilisés pour récupérer le retard).
Phuket Town, 16H, une fois récupéré et vu que la journée est magnifique, décision est prise de se faire un petit bout de la côte Ouest en mode chill histoire de voir si il y a du monde.
Patong/Kalim Beach
For a Saturday the road is exceptionally fluid and we arrived in no time!
It's not here that we will meet a lot of people, the place is completely deserted and the number of closed shops and restaurants is very impressive.
Pour un samedi la route est vraiment fluide et on est arrivé en un rien de temps!
Ce n'est pas ici que l'on va croiser beaucoup de monde, l'endroit est complètement déserté et le nombre de commerces et restaurants fermés est très impressionnant.
As it's far from being the most beautiful place of the island we don't waste time and we take the road of the South after a very short stop.
Vu que c'est loin d'être le plus beau coin de l'ile on ne s'y attarde pas et l'on reprends la route du Sud après un très court arrêt.
Karon Beach
Usually popular among tourists from Eastern Europe and Russia, Karon is a very nice small town with a long and beautiful beach.
Prisée par les touristes d'Europe de l'Est et de Russie, Karon est une petite ville très sympa avec une longue et magnifique plage.
It's really weird to see such a long empty beach. It's sure that seeing nature being rebuilt is extremely positive, but it also makes me think of all those who lived from small jobs around tourism (9.3 million tourists/year in Phuket, 38.2 million/year in Thailand and 12% of GDP).
Ca fait vraiment bizarre de voir cette si grande plage vide. C'est sur que de voir une nature qui se reconstruit cela fait super plaisir mais cela me fait penser aussi à tout ceux qui vivaient de petit job autour du tourisme (9,3 millions de touristes/an sur Phuket, 38,2 millions/an en Thaïlande et 12% du PIB).

Kata Beach
After seeing an impressive number of 7eleven and Family Mart closed, which shocked me a lot being used to see them open 7/7 days 24/24 hours, we're now in Kata Beach.
Après avoir vu un nombre fou de 7eleven et family Mart fermés, ce qui m'a choqué étant habitué de les voir ouvert 7/7 jour 24/24 heures, nous voici maintenant à Kata Beach.
At the sight of a small street market we think we finally found a place with a few people, especially since the beach of Kata is beautiful. But it's quickly the surprise and even if here there is a little bit more people we are far from the usual attendance in high season!
A la vu d'un petit marché ambulant l'on pense enfin avoir trouvé un endroit avec un peut de monde, surtout que la plage de Kata est très belle. Mais c'est vite la surprise et même si ici il y a un peu plus de monde on est bien loin de la présence habituelle en haute saison!
Nai Harn
It's 5:45 pm when we arrive at Nai Harn. For me it's the most beautiful place of the island of Phuket, thanks to its park surrounded by water, its temple and of course its beach.
Il est 17H45 lorsque l'on arrive à Nai Harn. Pour ma part c'est le plus bel endroit de l'ile de Phuket grace à son temple, son parc entouré d'étendu d'eau et bien sur sa plage.
And I'm not the only one to think so, I'm starting to believe that all the inhabitants of Phuket are there, cyclists, joggers, beach lovers, farang (name for expatriates) like me... there's everybody!
Et à priori je ne suis pas le seul à le penser, à croire que tout Phuket c'est donné rendez-vous ici, entre les cyclistes, les joggers, les adeptes de la plage, les farangs (nom pour les expat) comme moi... tout le monde est ici!
The clock is ticking and the sun will soon set. So we have to leave Nai Harn for our final destination, not far from here, where I think it will be a bit crowded as well.
L'heure tourne et le soleil ne va plus tarder à ce coucher. Il nous faut donc quitter Nai Harn pour notre destination finale pas très loin d'ici où je pense il y aura aussi un peu de monde.
Promthep Cape
Promthep Cape not only offers a wonderful panoramic view it's also an ideal spot for sunsets.
As expected the few who weren't at Nai Harn are here to enjoy the view.
Promthep Cape non content d'offrir un panoramique magnique c'est aussi un spot idéal pour les couchés de soleil.
Comme prévu les rares qui n'étaient pas à Nai Harn sont ici pour profiter de la vue.
