Hello friends, did you miss me?
I must say that for some time, I often lose track of time, and so I forget to share my photos from my travels here. But this time, I remembered to share with you what I saw yesterday, as it was finally a beautiful day after several days of rain. I decided to go and see an important antique market that takes place every first Sunday of the month in the city of Verona.
Verona needs no introduction; it is known worldwide. It is located about 180 km from my home in Milan, so it is easily reachable via the highway. I arrived in the morning quite early because I knew that otherwise, I would have a hard time finding parking.
I have had a passion for visiting these markets for several years, as I find them so interesting. You can truly find precious items here. I've developed a bit of a collector's passion, and I always hope to find something rare that might increase in value over time. I must say that, for my first time at this market, I was impressed by the vast number of booths that were present, offering a bit of everything, like this antique painting with which I took a photo.
After strolling around the market for about two hours, and while there were many interesting things to buy, they were quite expensive, so I'll save it for next time. I'll definitely be coming back here. I decided to take a tour of the city of Verona, a place I don't visit often. In fact, it had been several years since my last visit, but I must say that I didn't find it much changed, and it has remained quite original.
Certainly, what struck me was Castelvecchio and its bridge, as well as the numerous typical shops along the city streets. It's something that is slowly disappearing from these big cities, making way for more globally renowned establishments of major brands.
Of course, I stopped at a typical trattoria in the area and enjoyed a delicious "risotto all'isolana." They told me it's a typical dish from these parts, made with minced pork and veal, a truly delightful dish I had never had the opportunity to try before. I then continued my visit to the most iconic spots in the city, including the famous balcony of Juliet and Romeo, a must-visit if you come to the city. I also visited the bustling heart of the city, Piazza delle Erbe, where there are interesting places to enjoy a great aperitivo. I took a break there for an hour.
Before leaving to go back home, I took a nighttime photo of Castelvecchio Bridge, as I had parked my car nearby. I must say that it's even more beautiful at night.
I hope you enjoyed the story of my day in Verona, filled with antique treasures and architectural beauty, thanks to the photos I took. I hope to post again as soon as possible because I enjoy sharing things with you.
