Today I have the pleasure of inviting you to walk through the streets of Ciego de Ávila province on a Sunday. I'll show you its urban styles, landscapes, and the natural atmosphere of a quiet day, like the last one of the week. I'll also share some images I captured with my phone of the blue-golden sky at sunset—a unique phenomenon.

Hoy tengo el placer de invitarlos a caminar un domingo por las calles de la provincia Ciego de Ávila, les mostraré sus estilos urbanísticos, paisajes y ambiente natural de un día tranquilo, como el último de la semana. También les presentaré unas imágenes que capté con mi teléfono del cielo azul-dorado al atardecer, un fenómeno único.

To begin, I'll tell you that my city seems frozen in time. Even though there are beautiful places, there are also old objects, buildings, and machinery.

One example is the railway trains. Near where I live is the railroad, a departure point for this transport to provinces and municipalities, used for moving people or essential food supplies. Leaving my home, I got to see the departure of one that was loaded with sugarcane cars.

Para comenzar, les diré que mi ciudad está detenida en el tiempo, a pesar de qué hay lugares bonitos también existen objetos, edificios y maquinarias antiguas.

Una de ellas, son los trenes ferroviarios, cerca de donde vivo queda el ferrocarril, un punto de partida de este transporte a las provincias y municipios para su traslado de personas o alimentos de primera necesidad. Saliendo de mi hogar pude apreciar la salida de uno que iba cargado con vagones de caña de azúcar.

But my journey to capture beautiful sunset photos was a must for today. As you can see, the town is calm, with clear streets and a typically slow pace, reflecting Sunday's rest.

When the sun sets, it's like watching the city shed the noise of the day and dress itself in golden light—everything is spectacular.

Pero mi travesía en busca de obtener hermosas fotografías del atardecer, eran de obligación el día de hoy. Como se puede observar, esta la población calmada, con calles despejadas y un ritmo pausado típico, reflejando el descanso del domingo.

Cuando cae el sol es como ver la ciudad quitarse ruido del día y vestirse de luz dorada, todo espectacular.

To get a good view of these natural phenomena, I had to go deeper into places where, if you look closely, you'll find many royal palms—some planted, others part of the town's heritage, since, as you may not know, it is a national symbol of Cuba.

These squares are popular among soccer fans. As the sun goes down, you can see many practicing this global sport, and as you pass by, you hear shouts like "pass the ball!" and even debates about who's the best, lol.

Para ver bien estos fenómenos de la naturaleza, tuve que adentrarme a lugares que si se fijan mejor, encontrarán muchas palmas reales, sembradas y otras patrimonios del pueblo, ya que si no lo sabían es un atributo nacional de Cuba.

Estas plazas son acogidas por los fanáticos del fútbol, al bajar el sol, pueden ver varios practicando este deporte mundial, pues al pasar se oyen las voces como: pasen el balón y hasta quien es el mejor jjjj.

These gardens are truly beautiful, and at the far end of the square, it is dedicated to workers' marches on May 1st and revolutionary political events.

Ciego de Ávila at sunset is not just a place; it is a slow sigh of light traffic, a golden poem painted between parks and avenues, between history and nature. Walking through it at this hour is a reminder that even in daily routine, there is beauty waiting to be found.

Estos jardines son bien bellos y al final de la plaza se dedicada a las marchas por los trabajadores el 1 de Mayo y actos políticos revolucionarios.

Ciego de Ávila al atardecer no es solo un lugar; es un suspiro lento de poco tránsito, un poema dorado pintado entre parques y avenidas, entre historia y naturaleza. Caminarla a esta hora es recordar que incluso en la rutina diaria, hay belleza esperando ser encontrada.

A few days ago, I walked near the baseball stadium, but from a distance. This time, I tried to let you see it a little closer, and I climbed onto a metal structure to take some photos as quickly as possible—before anyone could scold me for climbing up, lol.

This stadium remains standing despite the neglect of its surroundings, like the amphitheater and public square.

Hace unos días, hice un recorrido cerca del Estadio Deportivo de béisbol, pero de distancia. Esta vez si trate de que lo vieran un poco más de cerca y me subí a un aparato metálico, para realizar algunas fotos lo más rápido posible antes de que me regañaran por subirme jjjj.

Este estadio se conserva a pesar del abandono de sus alrededores como el Anfiteatro y plaza pública.

The facility features a bar, a cafeteria, a press room, radio and television broadcasting booths, as well as meeting rooms. And its primary focus is hosting baseball games for the Cuban national series.

La instalación cuenta con bar, cafetería, sala de prensa, cabinas de transmisión de radio y televisión, además de salones de reunión. Y su fundamental atención son los partidos de pelotas por la serie nacional cubana.

I took the whole tour without rushing. I rested for a few minutes under this pyramid-shaped sculpture and then headed out to capture the last shots of the lines in the sky.

Sundays bring a sense of peace when walking these paths. The breeze of fresh air while running, and the tranquility—it's incredible.

Todo el recorrido lo hice sin apuros, descanse unos minutos bajo esta escultura en forma de pirámide y salí a buscar las últimas tomas de líneas en el cielo.

Los domingos transmiten paz al caminar estos senderos, la brisa del aire puro al correr y la tranquilidad es increíble.

When the sun had completely set, the sky grew clearer than it should have been, as if it didn't want to leave entirely. I paused for a moment.

I didn't take out my phone right away. First, I just looked. Because there are things that happen only once, even if they occur in the same familiar place.

Cuando el sol terminó de caer, el cielo se volvió más claro de lo que debería ser, como si no quisiera irse del todo. Me detuve un momento.

No saqué el teléfono enseguida. Primero miré. Porque hay cosas que pasan una sola vez, aunque vivan en el mismo lugar de siempre.

Then, it became impossible not to take photos of the event in the sky. It wasn't just orange or pink. There was a kind of soft white band, almost a pale arc, as if two skies had overlapped for an instant.

I don't know about you, but for me, it was a super special day, and enjoying the sunset in its final moments while sitting on a park bench felt iconic and phenomenal.

Ya luego si era imposible no tomar fotos del evento en el cielo. No era solo naranja o rosado. Había una especie de franja suave blanca, casi un arco pálido, como si dos cielos se superpusieran por un instante.

No sé para ustedes, pero para mí, era un día súper especial y disfrutar del atardecer en su último instante sentado en el banco del parque fue icónico y fenomenal.
