Discover Cao Bang - The mysterious beauty of the mountains and forests

In the previous posts, you have followed me to explore the Northwest of Viet Nam with the majestic beauty that nature has brought to us. Speaking of beautiful scenery, the northern mountains of Vietnam are very famous, which every backpacker like us wishes to visit at least once. Even foreign backpackers traveling to Viet Nam cannot ignore this land. Here converge all the beautiful scenes, from the towering mountains, or the precarious limestone mountains, to the feeling of holding the steering wheel on the winding pass road with twists and turns, to the beautiful mountains. White waterfalls pour down from above along the roadside, and then the terraced fields stretch along the hillside...

With the goal of conquering all the places that I want in Vietnam, so far I seem to have achieved my goal, from North to South. Each place has its own beauty that cannot be compared with each other. But for the Northwest and Northeast of Viet Nam, where I have had the opportunity to go and experience 4 times, I always want to come back to this place many more times, where even if you stay for a few months, It's impossible to explore it all, because of its vastness, because of the many beautiful scenes, but when you bring up the camera, it always gives you great photos regardless of the angle. From the road, the tops of the trees, to the rustic people of the ethnic minorities, everything blends into a unique beauty of this land.

Today, I invite you to follow me to a province in the Northeastern region of Viet Nam and explore a part of it, that is Cao Bang province, with 2 famous places are Ban Gioc Waterfall and Lenin bStream.
Cao Bang is a province with a border with China, about 333km long, the longest border with China, bordering Guangxi province (China). Cao Bang is home to 90% of the area is mountainous, covered by forests, so the climate here is very cool and fresh.

Ban Gioc Waterfall is a waterfall located between the border of Viet Nam and China, with the western half in Dam Thuy commune, Trung Khanh district, Cao Bang province. Both countries are exploiting tourism in this country because this is a ravishingly beautiful waterfall favored by nature. With a height of about 35 m, a width of 300 m, divided into 3 layers of flowing water, this is one of the largest natural waterfalls in Southeast Asia, and in the top of the largest waterfalls on the border dividing the two countries nation. This waterfall originates from the Quay Son River, with abundant water flowing down the floors creating a wonderful natural picture, considered the most beautiful waterfall in Viet Nam. Whether viewed from afar or near, from above or standing right at the foot of the waterfall looking up, the water flows like a sparkling white silk strip, gently winding between the mountains and forests. From Cao Bang city, it will take you about 100km for the process of moving to this Ban Gioc Waterfall, quite a long distance with zigzag mountain roads, but when you arrive here, you can see the perfect beauty with your own eyes. At this point, the feeling of fatigue seems to disappear, swept away by the other water, leaving only in your eyes the most beautiful and majestic things that nature brings.

Here you can experience horseback riding on the lawn and taking a boat out to the middle of the river, which is brought in by the locals here to serve visitors, which is also a very interesting service for new visitors here. Every year, there is also a Ban Gioc waterfall tourism festival by the waterfall, but in the past 2 years, due to the Covid epidemic, all festivals have been canceled. At this festival, you will have the opportunity to have cultural exchanges, know more interesting things, and experience with the ethnic minorities here. Therefore, this is a great choice for those who love nature, explore the beautiful scenes that nature brings, as well as learn and discover national identity.

To the north of Cao Bang province, is the first point of the Ho Chi Minh road on the mainland, and the road leading to the Lenin Stream. Lenin Stream is located in the complex of a special national-revolutionary historical relic site ​​Pac Bo, ​located in Pac Bo village, Truong Ha commune, Ha Quang district. This is a famous place and saved in the history of Viet Nam, which every Vietnamese citizen knows, with the ​Coc Bo cave, Cac Mac mountain.

Going back in history, on June 5, 1911, Bac Ho, the great leader of the Vietnamese people, went out to find a way to save the country. After nearly 30 years of wandering around the world, on January 28, 1941, Bac Ho returned, and on February 8, 1941, chose this place as a place to live and work. The days of Bac Ho is revolutionary activities in Cao Bang were associated with Coc Bo cave, Cac Mac mountain, and Lenin stream. This place with a clear stream full of fish, cool climate all year round, unspoiled and peaceful natural beauty, is a place of great historical significance for the Vietnamese people, and a place to attract tourists is very crowded. This is also the place bordering China, and I had the opportunity to conquer the number 675 milestones.

From the Lenin stream, there is a small path along the mountainside, and it took us more than 1 hour to climb, we reached this landmark. On the other side of the landmark is China's territory, where infrastructure and temples are being built, and people live. We asked permission from the people here to go inside to take pictures. And the feeling of being able to step into another country without a Passport is very interesting. The pagoda here was built according to the architecture of the Chinese so it is very beautiful, because it is still under construction, so we did not take many pictures.

Not only is it a place endowed by nature with majestic beauty in the midst of thousands of mountains and forests, with Lenin stream, Coc Po cave, Cac Mac mountain, or Ban Gioc Waterfall, but these are also worthy places of Cao Bang province with wildness along and great historical value, Cao Bang land still preserves many unique cultural features of the ethnic groups living in Viet Nam.
And you should try once to this land of Cao Bang, to get interesting experiences, explore the wild beauty of this place. I am sure it will be your most valuable journey when coming to the Northeast of Viet Nam.
