What A Breathtaking View of Mother Earth | Attabad Lake, Pakistan

April 4th, 2010 was the day which took the lives of thousands and livelihood of millions of people of the Hunza district yet provided with the livelihood of millions of people in return? How? The Attabad district of Hunza faced a calamity on this day when a huge earthquake hit them. Did you know there was no such lake by the name of Attabad in that region or infact there wasn't any lake there, just the villages encompassed by beautiful gigantic mountains.

After the earthquake, a lake emerged out of nowhere in between these mountains and is considered as one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. The:

Did I mention in my previous blogs that I visited the northern Pakistan for a community service where we set up a free for all dental camp in the Hunza district. My next blog would be about that and I'm sure it'll interest you all.

Anyway, on our way back from the dental camp, we all stopped at this majestic lake, the Attabad Lake. I provided you with its history above, so now, let's take a look at my experience there.

We reached there in morning, around 11 am. Since we had a strict schedule, we were instructed not to spend more than an hour at this place, but who listens to these when you're at such a beautiful place.

I took these pictures at the top of the cliff, before actually proceeding towards the lake. From this you can imagine the beauty of this place. Above, I mentioned that this lake provided livelihood to a lot of people? How? Hundreds and thousands of people have started their businesses over here. Some of them are selling artifacts. Some are selling food items, some drinks etc. There are vendors who have boats and offer you boat rides and jet skiing in Attabad lake.

It's not always that you visit a place like this. Ofcourse, the prices are comparatively very high at places like these but its once in a lifetime experience and you wouldn't want to miss out, so I paid up and experienced the first ever boat ride.

At a place like this, I felt that this lake was enchanting me. I was spellbound, being in the middle of this crystal blue lake, with mountains all over me.

I'm not sure if you'll be able to understand the feeling but it was breathtaking. To be in this lake and actually touching the cold water, while gliding through the water, getting closer and closer to the mountains.
