Living across the ocean has its perks and disadvantages at the same time. We can always head over to the beach at any given time inhale some serenity. Only a couple of weeks ago, I was at my friend's place who lives at an arms distance from the beach. We were studying and it was around 2 am. To release some stress, we decided to head over to the beach and and relief ourselves.
So yeah. This is a huge privilege. I have alot of friends who live in other cities and they've never been to the beach. Whenever they visit Karachi, they ask me to visit the beach with them.
This weekend, we planned a trip to the beach with my extended family, that includes my uncles and cousins. We visited the recently renovated beach that has been taken over by the Pakistan army. Ofcourse, the army has taken over this huge beach just like they have taken over this country lmao.
Anyway, the beach is called the Manora Beach.
MANORA BEACH
It was at least an hour's drive away from the city. We passed by multiple army bases on our way to Manora and there were atleast 3-4 armed checkpoints where we were searched. Then of course at each checkpoint, we had to pay them a small amount for God knows what reasons. We left early at around 6 am on Sunday, hoping that there won't be a lot of people this early. I took this selfie as we left our house.
BREAKFAST
As we reached there, there was a huge crowd even at 7 am in the morning. The parking spaces were almost fully occupied and there was a huge crowd at the tickets counter. Yes, we had to buy tickets in order to enter the beach. While my brothers were unloading the stuff from the car, I joined the queue for the tickets.
Once I entered the beach, it was a rral hassle to find a vacant Gazebo as almost 90% of them had already been taken by other people. Finally I found one and paid the management there for the Gazebo. It cost me:
PKR | USD | HIVE |
---|---|---|
1,500 | 5 | 17 |
As soon as we settled in the gazebo, the mothers, took out yhe breakfast for the whole family as they didn't want us to go in the water without having some breakfast. This was bizarre, I mean, you don't swim when you have stuffed up your stomach, but how can argue with moms xD
ME TIME
I have been busting my ass for over 5 months to get in shape and this was the first time in the last 5 months that I had visited the beach, so I wanted to get some pictures flexing my non existent muscles. This was the perfect opportunity. I took off my shirt, wore my top and took my youngest brother with me who's my unpaid photographer for such events 😭😂
No I'm not showing off anything. Theres nothing to show off xD. I'm just a man who feels happy to see the changes in him over the course of time.
IN THE WATER
It was hard to keep me away from water for too long. Even though my mom kept on throwing continuous curses and warnings at me, I kept going forward deep within the waves. My dad had to step in and he brought me back to the shallow water. XD
We played a lot in the water. We had brought a bat and a ball with us and this allowed us to play cricket. There's nothing like some cricket at the beach. It has to be the most wonderful feeling.
HORSE RIDING
If there's one thing that I have been crazy for since my childhood, it's horse riding and archery. I have a huge attraction for both of these sports and I have never really been able to give time to it. There are not many horse riding clubs in my city, and the ones that are, for armed forces and their families, so the only time I get to ride a horse is when I visit the beach and I make sure I always ride a horse.
It just gives me peace to climb up on a horse, sit on the saddle glide through the sand and feel the wind on my face. It's such a majestic animal. Truly one of the God's greatest creations
The sun was already on our heads. It was 12 in noon and the water had already occupied most of the seashore. I got out of the water and sunbathed for a good one hour. This is the most annoying time for me when I get out of the water and there's sand all over my body. Anyway, I sunbathed for an hour and then took a shower.
We had snacks after that and then started to pack our stuff. In around 30 minutes we had already packed pur bags and we left for our homes.
So this was it from my recent visit to the beach. Hope you enjoyed reading it.

Paying for the entrance to the beach and then paying again for a gazebo... Man, that´s a rip off, especially at a beach like this. I mean it doesn´t even look fancy or something.
When we lived on the Caribbean coast of Mexico, we used to go to beaches like this one. Everything for free in there, even the umbrellas...
We lived in different places over there and sometimes, we had a beach like this just a few minutes of walking from the apartment. Sweet memories... But yeah, I´m happy for you and your family that you still enjoyed your beach day ;)
It's a shame honestly. Imagine this is the "finest" public beach we have here. The rest are full of shit. I mean, quite literally, you'd find shit all over the sand 😂🥲
Once, one of the most beautiful metropolitans in the world, we now have nothing to keep us here. Anyway, this beach was recently "acquired" by the Pakistan army, just like they have acquired more than 50% of Pakistani land and assets,so yk, we need to fill their pockets in order to have some good family time xD
But, honestly I had a really good time with my family.
This looks heavenly.... How do I move to your country as a dentist? 😂😂
Wow, I didn´t know that the Pakistan Army owns so much in your country. What do they do with all that land? Considering how big your country is, they own enough land to "build" a couple of entire new countries there :D
That was not my country dude, I´m from Czechia, we are a landlocked little country with no access to the sea :D The beach I showed you was in Mexico where we lived for some time. Btw dentists are demanded everywhere. Once you finish your studies, you can pick pretty much any country in the world and pursue your career in there ;)
