Every place has its own distinctive beauty that can't be found anywhere else. There are many people who like the beauty of the coastal city. Similarly, many people appreciate the wild beauty of the countryside, as well as the beauty of mountain towns. Batemans Bay is just one of our stops on a multi-day trip, but it's the place that left a strong impression on me.
Batemans Bay is a town on the South Coast region of the state of New South Wales, Australia. Although it is the largest town south of Nowra, it maintains a small-town atmosphere and welcomes visitors with its great estuary location, country hospitality, and charming atmosphere. The town itself got it all, beach walks, forest walks, and dolphin watching if you're lucky enough.
Observation Point Lookout
This is a scenic lookout with only a short walk, plenty of parking and very peaceful. It takes less than 10 minutes to stroll around from the car park. However, we spent nearly half an hour there just to enjoy the atmosphere and its picturesque beauty. I'm not sure my pictures do this place justice. However, if you look on Google for people who have been here and research their reviews, you'll find many who also like this lookout point as much as I do.
Pebbly Beach - Batemans Bay Marine Park
Pebbly Beach is one of the interesting camping places that we were missing on our trip. We had made the reservation since last December, but for some reason, the campground was closed for maintenance so we had to book another place at the last minute. Even though we knew the campground was closed, since we'd already been here, we still decided to stop by Pebbly Beach for a short walk of sightseeing. Located in the Murramarang National Park in New South Wales, to reach the campground, we had to drive pass the rain forest with tall straight trees on both sides of the road. Several trees were burned black from bushfires that have been burning since summer 2019. The road was quite empty. As if any other car were beside ours, it gave us the feeling of being in a movie theme of wonderland. The beach was quite calm on the day we arrived. It is a good spot to do camping, swimming and even fishing
Morning walk in Batemans Bay
What could be better than spending a cool morning strolling along the banks of the Clyde River! The Clyde is one of the cleanest estuaries on Australia’s east coast. When it comes to town centre, most of us immediately think about shopping. It wasn't our intention to go shopping, so we didn't check out the main shopping area. I simply wanted to spend time walking along the river, looking at the walls painted with colorful graffiti, buying an ice cream and finding a seat by the wooden bench to enjoy it under the cool weather. Life here seems quite gentle and peaceful. Most of the cafe' with the good views across the iconic Clyde River Bridge seem to be full of locals. You can easily access the town's northern beaches by walking across the bridge and crossing the town's cafe strip. These beaches are ideal for swimming, fishing, or picnicking. Whether you are looking for a seaside village or cosmopolitan town, Batemans Bay has a relaxed charm that will remind you that life is for enjoying!!!
Last but not least, if you stop by Batemans Bay, don't miss your chance to try the best fish and chips at Innes' Boatshed. We love to support local store, this family business has been operating for more that 50 years with their aim is to supply local fresh seafood. It was seriously the most delicious fish and chips I've ever had. They have "fish of the day" so it depends on what kind of fish they caught the day before. This means the fish is super fresh and the price is very affordable. The oyster is one of their signatures as well, but we didn't try. Just have a quick look at their 1.463 reviews so you'll know that I'm not lying! Lol!!!
