Good day to all the travelers of this wonderful community @worldmappin! How are you all doing? I hope you're all fine and safe. Hope you also accomplish all the things you have set to do for this day.

I have been meaning to share with you a quick trip I had in Bislig City, Surigao del Sur and a refreshing place I have visited there with my husband. But I have been busy with work and mom life and some commitments I have to attend to.

Today, I had a time to compose this travel blog I had after attending to a fiesta in our neighboring barangay. So this visit happened on the second week of November. It was Saturday. We had a 3 hour motorcycle ride to get there. I went there to accomplish some things related to my graduate studies.

There is this place I have been wanting to visit. Back then we rode a bus so it's not practical for me to stop and visit the place. It is just along the road. There is a signage of the place outside. The name is 'Ocean View Park'. As I read the name of the place I got excited. I thought since Bislig is a coastal city, the place is like an ocean park where there are marine animals inside. I was expecting to see a big fish, colorful fish and even coral reefs.

With that in mind we went to the entrance and paid the entrance fee which is only twenty five pesos. I was so happy with the cheap entrance fee and though of the wonderful sight I will witness later. Going up is a bit challenging adding extra excitement to the journey. I think the stairs going up is about a hundred steps, I'm not so sure but it's countless to me and I really had to stop for some time to breath air and relax my wobbling knees haha.

I was entertained by the murals in the side of the stairs. The paintings were so Filipino. There are Filipino farmers depicting the folksong 'Magtanim ay di Biro'. Another painting is the jeepney a means of transportation and the kalesa the historical ride back then. It is a ride where the horse makes the vehicle move and so much more paintings depicting Filipino culture.

When we reached the top I immediately looked for the marine life I'm so excited to witness. But to my disappoinment there was no such thing. May be too much excitement has led me to miss the word view park in the place's name haha. It is really actually an ocean view park. There's a park on top of a hill facing the sea of Bislig City. In the park there's a swing, a pine tree which added more relaxing ambience to the place. There are lots of flowers and a big tree in the middle of it.

Although it's not what I imagined to see, the place still is a wonderful place for me. It's refreshing and relaxing. I had a good rest during our stay for a while. It's windy there and the back portion of the place is a lush forest. It gives the the environment cool and the trees provides a shade that even if it's sunny day it's not hot there.

It's also overlooking the national highway and the coastline of the city. From there I can see the different vehicles passing by. I can also see some nets from the sea which may have fishes or some cultured marine life for commercial purposes like shrimps, seeweeds and crabs.

I enjoyed the view. I and my husband even took so many photos there. He even posed in the unicorn statue in the middle of the park. The clouds were really clear and blue up in the sky. After more than an hour of stay there we decided to go to go down already as it's almost 3 in the afternoon. We still have a long ride home and we have to stop to a market in our neighboring town to have some groceries, haha. Imagine how trying our journey was?

Going down the stairs I again looked at the murals on the walls and saw more Filipino culture. Going up we saw the care takers of the place and so I went to the other side of the stairs to give way as they are walking the path I'm also walking. When I looked on the side of the stairs, tall trees met my eyes.

1000062575.jpg

1000062574.jpg

My eyes kept roaming surveying the place. When I heard a soft sound of a water dropping down. I thought there could be a falls here. And trusting my instincts I looked more around and yes, there really is a small falls. It's covered by the leaves of the trees and the roots of the tall trees. It's just really a short falls I can't take a good photo of it as it's covered. When I zoomed in also the photo is so pixelated so I decided to just seize the moment and I called my husband to look at it too.

When we reached down the stairs there are college students making recording a video. May be a school project. We jump on to our motorcycle and started our long ride home. It was not what I expected but the place has brought me peace and relaxation from the hot weather and the busy and tiring day.

That's all for today. Thanks for reading this far . Til my next post!

Yeah it's like a quick date with my husband. A little exercise also and a relaxing view.

I love how peaceful your trip looks, and I can feel the fresh air and the relaxing view as you described it.

Yes the air is really fresh there. And the view of the sea looks really relaxing. Add to it the lush forest at the back of the place it makes the place cool and fresh.

Thanks @worldmappin and @lauramica for this recognition. It is my honor to be mentioned in your travel digest!

So many stairs, I'm going to faint, ha ha ha. To get through it, I needed the beautiful scenic landscapes on the walls, a very well thought-out and creative idea, because it makes you imagine that there's more above, and without that, I wouldn't have made it halfway. Ha ha.

Once you've climbed 100 stairs, like in the Rocky film, you see the beautiful results of that long journey.

Good exercise, cheers.

Yeah in fact our knees really turned jelly. And we were still not even half way 😂 The paintings really did well in diverting my attention from my knees to the beautiful and meaningful artworks on the walls.
