Siquijor in a day! 🌳🕶💦

in Worldmappin2 years ago (edited)

I went to Siquijor on the same week I went to Dumaguete. These places are just a boat ride away around an hour to two hours from each other. As usual this was spontaneous 😂 we’ve been told that the beach isn’t really nice and we have to travel to another place which is called Manuyjod because the beach is nicer there. We thought to ourselves, Siquijor is just near and also has the same required travel time. HAHA my friends are the bomb so adventurous! We booked our ticket and headed to Siquijor.

Enjoying the sea breeze! It takes 1 hour and a half to reach to the island.

Look at the sand! The water!

The first destination was Balete Tree! It’s a big tree that has water around it and it has fishes that eat the dead skin on your foot. Crazy right? A lot were getting that special foot massage HAHA the entrance fee is just 20 pesos. I paid but I did not put my foot down the water HAHA it’s just really uncomfy for me 😅 I just sat beside my friends and watched. They forced me tho to try it but I just CAN’T NEMO 🤣

Some voodoo dolls as souvenirs! Read the next paragraph and you’ll know why they have this 😅 I didn’t buy one I just bought magnets for our fridge

These people have been here for quite some time now I really think they’re enjoying it.

The second destination that we visited is this house that has an amazing view and lets you take pictures. Siquijor btw is actually known for witchcraft. One of the props for taking pictures is the “witch” broom. But really just an ordinary broom. They also have this swing but we were focused more on the broom because it’s tricky to get a picture. More like a jump shot. My friend Krystal wanted a picture so bad we just had to visit 🤣

After 20 shots, there’s just that one cool photo 😂

BTS OF COURSE HAHA

The third destination is the famous Cambugahay Falls. Outside the entrance we ordered barbecue because we were hungry and we missed lunch. We also got ice cream which really tastes so good. “Dirty” ice cream will always be the best! 💗

There was no entrance fee to the falls. We had to take 50 - 100 steps in going to the falls but it was no sweat for some of us since we experienced the Casaroro Falls in Dumaguete 🤣 which was more than a 100 steps and it had a 20 min trek too!

We were able to jump from the falls by using a swing that the locals made. Perfectly safe but we did experience some pain. I think it’s because of the impact of our jumps 😂 STILL worth the try!

The fourth destination was Paliton Beach. One of the best part about this is that a guy named Roger was selling his Mojito Cocktail by the beach. It taste really good. Krystal and I made a stupid bet!! Whoever finishes first gets to decide when to go back to Dumaguete 🤣 Krystal won LOL and she picked monday morning. Actually it was really hard for us to go back to Dumaguete because the boat tickets were sold out so we had to stay the night win or lose.

Last destination was having dinner at Dagsa. Unfortunately I dont have any picture of the food that we ate because we were all so drunk 😂 but it was really good we got this boodle set and it costs us 300 pesos each. It was such a good deal we didn’t even finish every dish there were left overs and we made it for take away. We were the last to leave the place and took advantage of it that we asked if we could sing 😂 my friend Abbie and Krystal sang. But an American stopped the fun because he said he wanted a quiet evening. We were obviously embarrassed so we hurried to the exit HAHA the owners apologized but also enjoyed my friends’ performance LOL she took a video then made us stop singing HAHAHA

Truly a short but memorable trip. I believe there are still a lot of amazing places in Siquijor we just didn’t have enough time to see them all.

Thank you Hivers for coming this far! 💗 I have so many stories to share I can’t wait to write them all. 😊
