Hello Hivers! 💗👋🏼
For today’s blog I’ll be talking about
⛰💦 Waterfalls 💦⛰
(Random fact: I like typing with emojis & for me, as a reader, it’ll be fun to read and helps you picture out the set up hehe)
This was the time of the pandemic, July of 2021. The covid cases in Cebu, Philippines were not so high anymore that we were able to travel to our local tourist spots. My friends and I have been traveling to the beach and the mountain that it has been a while since we trekked and visited the falls. We saw this tiktok video of a common friend that posted about this which found in the southern part of Cebu.
This was actually planned at short notice 😅 my friends and I love spontaneous trips ❤️ We made a group chat on Wednesday and agreed on going on Sunday the same week. We woke up early at around 6AM and everyone met at 7AM.
I was actually hungover from my gathering with friends that I only had 3 hours of sleep LOL (but I still managed to wake up and go on the trip 😋). We stayed at this scuba diving center called Club Kontiki Resort. This placed is also for free diving. Sadly it was affected by Typhoon Odette last year December 2021 but now they are fixing the place. The pictures below were taken July, 2021.
We drove to Jollibee for breakfast take-out and after getting all the food we started our journey.
It took us an hour to escape from the city 🏙🚘🚥 What I love about sundays is that it’s less traffic. People are usually at their homes recovering or relaxing for another busy week ahead.
We stopped by at Carcar, Cebu to buy Lechon. For those who don’t know Lechon, it’s roasted suckling pig stuffed with spices. There are lots of sellers who can make really tasty Lechon but Carcar is the most popular place to buy this. Unfortunately I don’t have any picture. I owe you guys! 😅
We were a bit lost because when we were traveling we were relying on the app - Waze and some parts of the place had no signal thus having no internet. Thankfully the locals were able to help us. 🤧❤️
The name of the falls is Cambanog Falls located at the borderline of Dumanjug, Cebu. Before reaching Cambanog, we have to pass by Lusno Falls. From there we ask a local to guide us to Cambanog - a 30 min trek from Lusno.
Here are some pictures 🤗 I don’t have a picture of Lusno Falls tho 😞 but the water was running down really fast and people were swimming and chilling nearby. Karaoke was also available and food stalls. I think a few only know about Cambanog falls or they’re too tired to trek 😅
These are my friends btw: Bea, Thena, Jaian and Gerb 🫶🏽🦋💫 the overall trek to Cambanog was really fun especially doing it with them. It was a good workout and breather for all of us. We passed by a lot houses (the farmers’), corn crops, rice crops, and even animals. We then knew that we were near Cambanog when we heard the loud water running. Here’s a picture from above. 👀🍃
We had to trek down the mountain with a man made stairs that kinda needs fixing 😅 but we were all safe and really excited to finally take a bath and to eat LOL we were getting really hungry knowing that our food was Lechon 🤤
This is the final view guys! The long wait is over 😉
The water was cold and we were able to go under it. See pictures below of me and Jaian 😁
We kind of followed where the water was going and by our surprise there was a carabao that was left in the water to take a bath. It was funny cause he camouflaged with the rocks. We hardly noticed until we took a closer look 🤣
We stayed for a bit and enjoyed the view. It was very relaxing to be surrounded by trees 😌
I forgot to mention about the entrance fee. I’m not sure for Cambanog but the entrance to Lusno was for 20 pesos only.
We trekked back at around 4:30 because it was about to rain and it was getting dark. We travelled back to the city and arrived at around 7pm and had dinner.
I’m really looking forward to chase down more waterfalls in Cebu 😊 the first falls that I visited was way back in college but I can’t quite remember the details hehe. For sure I’ll be posting more of these. Thank you so much for reaching this far ❤️ Hope you guys enjoyed reading as I enjoyed writing this blog. 🤗🤍

That is a wide waterfall, it must have been a great experience swimming below it. Good morning kabayan.
Good Morning! ❤️ It really was! The water was cold and the weather was hot it was the perfect combo 😊
I am a waterfall hunter, I can say that I have seen a lot of waterfalls so far, that's why the waterfall you presented in your post is also wow, even if it is not very big it surprises with its beauty.
Greetings from Romania!
Good morning from the Philippines 😊 i'm planning to visit more I think there are much bigger falls here. 💧
