I used to live in London, so know it well, but a few days ago had the opportunity to explore it with my son, his first time, so had the chance to see everything again like it was the first time!
We took the train into Waterloo Station, and then walked around the city taking in some of the most famous parts. We walked along the river passed the London Eye, over Westminster Bridge to Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament.
After that we walked up Whitehall to Trafalgar Square and saw Nelsons Column and the lions. It was then time to wander up to Picadilly Circus before lunch. After an obligatory stop at Hamley's toy shop we wandered through Mayfair and across Green Park to Buckingham Palace.
It's surprising how the miles rack up, I looked at my Google location history and we managed about 6-miles walking around London, which also included a visit to the Tate Modern Gallery on the South Bank.
Anyway, enough chit chat, here's some pictures, I hope you enjoy them...
MY wife was from London and has family there so I have visited it a few times, and I loved exploring there, and thanks for this great post sharing so much of interest there
Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :), I truly enjoy exploring the world virtually each Wednesday seeing walks from all around the globe and feeling I am there and experiencing it all myself, such as I did in your post just now :)
I'm glad you got something from the post. I was only there for a few hours, there was enough time to see the big sights, but it's the little things that make a place exciting, another time, hopefully soon...
Yes indeed the small things make a place special
