I present to you the town of Oderzo in the province of Treviso Italy

In this article I would like to let the world know about the towns that are close to my Treviso and let you discover why each of them certainly has something to make known on a tourist level.

Today we go to Oderzo a town of about 20,000 inhabitants which is located in the province of Treviso in the Veneto region.

Of course, like many Venetian municipalities, it has Roman origins but also one of the oldest archaeological museums in Italy, just think that it was built in 1870.

Then the bell tower you see in the photo and the man of the cathedral of San Giovanni Battista which was built around 1500 and which unfortunately part of the internal paintings were stolen in the Napoleonic era and then exhibited at the Pinacoteca di Brera in Milan.

Along the streets of the town you will meet several palaces built between 400 and 500 which are now used for temporary exhibitions or for meeting spaces and therefore for business meetings.

I really love walking along these streets because it is like going back in time and you see even smaller cities as in the case of Oderzo they can convey this.

In the photo you see above that I shared with you is the Torresin which practically in the Venetian dialect therefore in the local language means La Torre.

In fact it is the ancient gate through which those who came from Treviso passed and entered the fortified nucleus of Oderzo and was built under the dominion of the Serenissima, unfortunately it was destroyed and rebuilt in 1930.

And from the symbols that we find around the city such as the lion of San Marco we can understand that this city was greatly influenced by the Republic of Venice, indeed it was very important for the Republic of Venice.

I hope you enjoyed this small Venetian city and you enjoyed the photos I shared so much
