When I first heard about the Manjuyod White Sandbar in the Visayas, I couldn't wait to see it in person. Known as the Maldives of the Philippines, this pristine sandbar located in Negros Oriental boasts powdery white sand, crystal-clear waters, and stunning views that seem straight out of a dream. Visiting the sandbar turned out to be one of the most relaxing and memorable experiences I’ve ever had.
As I approached Manjuyod White Sandbar, the first thing that caught my attention was the breathtaking beauty of the clear water. What makes it even more awesome is its unique appearance. At low tide, the sandbar will be seen like a white island in the middle of the sea, while at high tide, it seems to float just beneath the water's surface.
One of the highlights of the Manjuyod experience is the wooden stilt houses scattered along the sandbar. These nice structures look as if they’re floating on water, especially during high tide. Some of these houses are available for rent, offering visitors the chance to stay overnight or rest during their visit. I spent a moment admiring these picturesque huts, which add charm to the sandbar's already stunning landscape.
The waters of Manjuyod White Sandbar are really something. While I watch, I was amazed by the color of the sand it is really white. I was just said wow, And the breathtaking contrast makes me feel like I’ve stepped into a tropical paradise straight from a postcard. The water is so transparent that it is easy to observe the tiny sand at the bottom, sparkling under the sun. It's a perfect place to chill out, take a couple minutes to relax, or just float and watch time fade away.
Manjuyod White Sandbar is truly a paradise for photographer. I couldn’t resist taking photos at every corner, the beautiful colors of the sky,and the clear waters is perfect for capturing. The sunrise and sunset views are particularly stunning, painting the sky with shades of orange that reflect beautifully on the water.
One of my favorite moments was watching the sun slowly set on the horizon, with the last rays of light bathing the stilt houses in a warm glow. It was a picture-perfect scene that I will always cherish.
During my visit, I also try to ride boats that offers dolphin watching tours in nearby waters. If you’re lucky, you might spot dolphins frolicking in the waves a sight that’s sure to delight both kids and adults. Some visitors also bring picnics or packed meals to enjoy on the sandbar, as there are no restaurants or food stalls available.
I found the most unforgettable moment at Manjuyod White Sandbar to be watching the sunset. As the sky turned orange, pink, and purple, it created a stunning view reflected on the calm waters. Standing on the sandbar, with the horizon extending into eternity, I experienced complete serenity and amazement. The final golden light illuminated the stilt houses, and the coming night combined well. It was a good finish to a good day, I will always treasure such memories.
Manjuyod White Sandbar is situated in the vicinity of Bais, Negros Oriental, 1 hour from Dumaguete City and 15-20 min boat ride from the same. Where possible it is advisable to make a booking at least in advance, particularly when there are periods of high demand. Certain tours also take in dolphin tours and visits to a mangrove forest. The sandbar’s natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere make it a must-visit destination, and I’ll always remember my trip there.
