Good morning, ladies and gentlemen, I welcome you to a new tour of the skies of South America, I invite you to visit with me a small but charming town in Uruguay, I hope you enjoy the excellent trip in the best comfort of your seats and with a delicious appetizer by his side.

Today I want to tell you about the experience of my trip to the tourist city of Colonia del Sacramento, located in Uruguay. My journey began in Argentina, there I took a ferry to cross the famous Río de la Plata and arrive at this small town in the eastern gulf, as the locals commonly call it. Colonia is one of the oldest towns in the region, where its natural beauty and buildings dating from the time when colonizers from America arrived in those lands stand out.

Buenos días, damas y caballeros, les doy la bienvenida a un nuevo recorrido por cielos de América del sur, los invito a visitar conmigo una pequeña, pero encantadora localidad de Uruguay, espero disfruten el excelente viajes en la mejor comodidad de sus asientos y con un rico aperitivo a su lado.

Hoy quiero contar sobre la experiencia de mi viaje a la ciudad turística de Colonia del Sacramento, ubicada en el Uruguay. Mi travesía comenzó en la Argentina, allí tomé un ferry para cruzar el famoso Río de la Plata y llegar a este pequeño pueblo que está en el golfo oriental, como le dicen comúnmente los lugareños. Colonia es uno de los poblados más antiguos de la región, donde destaca su belleza natural y las construcciones que datan de la época en que llegaron a esas tierras los colonizadores de América.

The first thing I want to highlight, and I never tire of repeating it to everyone I talk to, is the great beauty of the landscapes that nature gives us in this area of ​​the southern cone; The second is the friendliness of the people of Uruguay. I must say that as a tourist, without a doubt, it is one of the countries where I have felt better cared for and more comfortable with the people who provide services.

If you have ever had the opportunity to visit an area built in the times of the colonization of America, then you will understand the type of structures that can be found in this place capable of captivating anyone, not only for its architecture but also it's the environment itself where a cold climate stands out and with a lot of breezes, an essential characteristic of the ports, which mentally moves us to feel as if we were on an Italian island, that added to the rich gastronomy where grilled meat and high-quality sausages stand out produced directly in the nearby lands, which combined with an extensive variety of wines available, provides you with everything you may require to spend an unforgettable moment.

Lo primero que quiero resaltar y no me canso de repetirlo con todo el que hablo, es la gran belleza de los paisajes que la naturaleza nos regala esta zona del cono sur; lo segundo, es la amabilidad de la gente de Uruguay, debo decir que como turista sin lugar a dudas es uno de los países donde me he sentido mejor atendida y más a gusto con las personas que prestan servicios.

Si alguna vez han tenido la oportunidad de visitar una zona construida en los tiempos de la colonización de América, entonces entenderá el tipo de estructuras con las que se pueden encontrar en este paraje capaz de cautivar a cualquiera, no solo por su arquitectura, sino por el propio ambiente donde destaca un clima frío y con mucha brisa, característica esencial de los puertos, que nos traslada mentalmente a sentir como si estuviéramos en una isla Italiana, eso sumado a la rica gastronomía donde sobresalen las parrilladas de carne y embutidos de gran calidad producidos directamente en las tierras cercanas, lo que combinado a una extensa variedad de vinos disponibles, te proporciona todo lo que puedes requerir para pasar un momento inolvidable.

An Uruguayan flag with enormous proportions is the most beautiful thing that attracts your attention from anywhere in the town, from there they begin a folkloric walk through the narrow stone streets full of houses with more than 200 years of construction, where currently exist all kinds of services for visitors such as restaurants, bars, shops, crafts, entertainment, music and much more.

One of the things that I enjoyed the most on this visit was the small wooden pier that allows you to enter the bay to see the sailing boats up close, which park in this region, which is very beautiful and romantic, it's a pity that I was walking alone because I'm sure it's a great space to enjoy, that added to the cold weather, it's one of those places where you want to hug the person next to you.

Una bandera del Uruguay con proporciones descomunales, es lo más vistoso que llama tu atención desde cualquier lugar del pueblo, de allí comienzan una caminata folklórica por las angostas calles de piedra llenas de casa con más de 200 años de construcción, donde existen en la actualidad todo tipo de servicios para los visitantes como restaurantes, bares, tiendas, artesanías, entretenimiento, música y mucho más.

Una de las cosas que más disfrute en esta visita, fue el pequeño muelle de madera que te permite adentrarte en la bahía para ver de cerca las embarcaciones de vela, que tienen como aparcadero esta región, lo cual es muy bonito y romántico, lástima que andaba sola, porque estoy segura de que es un espacio genial para disfrutar, eso sumado al clima frío, sin duda es uno de esos sitios en donde provoca abrazar a la persona que tiene al lado.

Going up from there, you come across the majestic and tall port lighthouse, although unfortunately at the time I went it was undergoing maintenance and I couldn't enjoy its powerful light, which the locals told me is a true spectacle in a night sky clear and full of stars.

However, despite not being able to go up to the viewpoint of the lighthouse, I was able to enter a beautiful restaurant that is also located on top of the hill, from where you can admire the whole town and especially the cathedral that is right in the center, which is a church built by the Spanish, which is about 300 years old.

Subiendo desde allí, te encuentras con el majestuoso y alto faro portuario, aunque lamentablemente en la época donde fui estaba en mantenimiento y no pude disfrutar de su potente luz, lo cual la gente del lugar me dijo que es un verdadero espectáculo en un cielo nocturno despejado y lleno de estrellas.

Sin embargo, a pesar de no poder subir al mirador del faro, si pude entrar a un hermoso restaurante que también está ubicado en lo alto de la colina, desde donde puedes admirar todo el pueblo y en especial la catedral que está justo en el centro, que es una iglesia construida por los españoles la cual tiene cerca de 300 años de antigüedad.

Finally, after a long day of wonderful tours, food tastings, and of course drinking a lot of wine, I insist a lot of wine and as many types as you can imagine, I arrived at the hotel I had reserved called El Charco, which is a mandatory reference within this little town.

This hotel, like almost everything in the place, is a house from the colonial era, although it was remodeled and adapted to modernity, making a quite pleasant architectural clash that allows you to enjoy the beauty of the past with the comforts of life. Modern, I loved the minimalist decoration of its rooms painted entirely in white, which gives it a touch of elegance, spaciousness, and purity, allowing you to relax while sleeping in its soft beds like clouds fully.

Por último, luego de un largo día de recorridos maravillosos, degustaciones de comida y por supuesto tomar mucho vino, insisto mucho vino y de cuantos tipos puedas imaginarte, llegué al hotel que tenía reservado llamado el Charco, el cual es una referencia obligatoria dentro de esta pequeña ciudad.

Este hotel, al igual que casi todo en el lugar, es una casa de la época colonial, aunque fue remodelado y adaptado a la modernidad, haciendo un choque arquitectónico bastante agradable que te permite disfrutar de la belleza del pasado con las comodidades de la vida moderna, me encantó la decoración minimalista de sus habitaciones pintadas totalmente en blanco, que le da un toque de elegancia, amplitud y pureza permitiéndote relajarse ampliamente, mientras duermes en sus camas suaves como las nubes.

The hotel also has a place for relaxation and reading, so for those of us who enjoy a fireplace, a good wine, and a great book, this is the ideal place to forget about the stress of the world and have a nice time, something I assure you I enjoyed it so much, that I asked for a tray of sausages to accompany what I was drinking, and I didn't stop until I had completely read the great book I was reading, which moved me in imagination to another world that I adorn my fantasies in the dreams of that night.

I do not want to say goodbye, without inviting you, as always, to live your own travel experience, so if you like colonial architecture, cold weather, and good food, Colonia del Sacramento in Uruguay is undoubtedly an ideal space for you to enjoy a lot.

El hotel además cuenta con un sitio para la relajación y la lectura, así que para los que disfrutamos de una chimenea, un buen vino y un gran libro, este es el sitio ideal para olvidarte del estrés del mundo y pasar un rato agradable, algo que les aseguro disfruté tanto, que pedí una bandeja de embutidos para acompañar lo que estaba tomando y no paré hasta leer por completo el gran libro que estaba leyendo, lo cual me trasladó en imaginación a otro mundo que adorno mis fantasías en los sueños de esa noche.

No quiero despedirme, sin invitarlos como siempre a vivir su propia experiencia de viajes, así que si les gusta la arquitectura colonial, el frío y la buena comida, Colonia del Sacramento en Uruguay es sin dudas un espacio ideal para que disfruten muchísimo.
