Years ago I had a pair or wooden slippers, something similar like the one above, but the sole was made of wood. It was so cool, I loved it, but the upper part, the most important for the massage was made of rubber and after a decade it became sticky and had to throw it away. Maybe it's time to buy a new pair. These are not cheap though.

Scholl is a well known brand and also high quality. The upper part is made to genuine leather. It's expensive but it is for a reason. Rubber can't hold your weight properly, you need a solid lower part, for which wood is perfect.
Yeah that makes a lot of sense. The rubber designed-wears here normally flatten out in a short time span and the under eats away fast because of friction in movement.
