Jasri, Forgoten Beach!

in Worldmappin2 years ago

We don't really have a lot of good beaches in the Karangsem, because most of the beaches have either rocky beaches or black sand beaches, which are not very much liked by most tourists.

And because of that, the development of tourism on Karangasem beaches is not been very much a success, and some of them are literally dying, even before the pandemic hits, and you can guess what happened in the past two years when the tourism in Bali was literally dead.

some time ago, I went there in the afternoon with my family. My wife was having a problem with her muscle and joint and would like to be buried in the hot beach sands. We believe that being buried in the beach sand can give you some health benefits, and is associated with the natural massage.

There is no admission fee to enter the beach because it is practically a public beach, and not being handled or managed by any traditional village which usually needs you to pay for the admission fee.

When you reached the parking lot, you will see the rocky part of the beach, you can park there and move westward into the sandy part of the beach. Unfortunately, I didn't take photos of the parking area and the rocky part of the beach.

We are lucky when we arrive some of the fishermen were preparing to go fishing in the traditional boat.

Here are some of the fishermen working together to bring the boat to the water, from where it is anchored. and some of them were already leaving for the sea. While others boats were still sitting on the beach.

Then walking further west passing the rows of anchored boats, you will see the sandy part of the beach. It might also be caused by the waves breaker that has been installed by the government to reduce the waves and also the abbrations.

A little bit to the west you can see what has been left by the development of tourism. The beach has been undergoing so much damage from the waves coming to the shore.

The big surprise for me lies beyond that damaged beach, when you up that beach you will be welcome by a few cows that were left by the owner to grass by themselves, next to the hotel's borders. Then there lie a lot of other hotels that seem to be abandoned and have not been used for years or at least during the pandemic time.

It is just a bit too bad that such a good place has to be abandoned, while it is nice to have those hotels and resorts and open new jobs if only they are able to survive and opens, it also comes with a cost. It will definitely inflate the price of the land around the area, making it even harder for the natives to own a piece of land, even to build a house.

Beautiful photos! It’s sad that the beach and the hotels are not in a good condition. On the other hand the beach is not overcrowded for you. I hope your wife feels better soon.
We also went to the beach to warm our feet. For us here it’s very crowded with tourists.

yes it is between a good and a bad situation. hopefully that the tourism industry will get better soon after all the restrictions is being lifted.
Thank you very much, she is doing better now, even though sometimes she still feels a bit painful.

you guys having a lot of tourist there?

Yes, we have a lot of tourists and local residents. I can see tourists even on a windy day, they don’t care about rip currents and stormy weather, or maybe they don’t understand the warning flag.
