Panagbenga also known as Flower Festival in Baguio is being celebrated for the monthlong of every February. This 2024 marks the 28th staging of the festival with the theme "Celebrating Traditions, Embracing Innovation". Those who wants to explore and experience the flowers during Panagbenga, you are welcome to visit us here in Baguio City.
Aside from the flowers in bloom, most awaited specially the students are the session road in bloom and market encounter. There would be plenty of for sale products in these corners which I’m going to check if it’s still the same from the last time I visited.
I don't usually go to Panagbenga flower fest specially during float parades and street dance competitions. When I was in college I needed to go out early because we had a group activity on a Sunday and at the same time it was Float parade for Panagbenga. I thought if I leave early, I will be out of the crowd and traffic but I was wrong. As I was walking, I can’t even fit along the way. If I say “excuse me” the people would be mad at me thinking that I am stealing their posts area in watching the parade. Because of these incidents that I had experience I don’t wish to go out during those times.

This would be my first time checking to see what they have for Panagbenga 2024 after the pandemic. I'm with my officemates when I went their by the way. We went to Market Encounter and Session Road in Bloom. As usual, there were lots of people and a large number of items and snacks being sold. Food is really life.😅
The entirety of Session Road, Assumption Road, and the street leading up to the Sky World building were things I hadn't anticipated because it was full of stalls. Here, the government and the bidders both benefited greatly. The different stalls were rented by business people from Baguio and outside Baguio. So expect products from different places from the entire Philippines. Let's check what they have in their stalls.😃
If you decide to come and visit these corners, you can see the ff.:
1.Dry goods
They have shoes, clothings, sandals slippers and many more. They have new trends for fashion specially for younger generations. There were also Marikina shoes, Thai clothings and many more. They have souvenirs which has the word " Baguio" printed on it.It occupied a large number of stalls for these products. Just a tip, if you wish to buy, you can come on the last day which is Sunday for them to give a discount, just a tip though to save.😂
2.Food for "Pasalubong"
These are crackers, candies, sweets and many more. These are products from Baguio that you could bring to other places as a gift or food for yourself. Try it now!
3.Lucky Charms
It was funny because when I saw these stalls nobody were buying or inquiring about these products. Since it was "lucky charm" will they sell a lot since they call their product as "lucky"? Or will they lost because of high rent for the stall and not selling anything? Well, maybe they could still sell since they were able to manage to pay for their high rent.Right?😎
4.Food Stalls
There were a lot of food stalls. Yes, a lot. Most of the stalls were for food coming from different places. Lechon from cebu, Empanada from Ilocos, Caffee from different places, restaurants, grills and a lot more from different places. But ofcourse as usual, Shawarma will always be present. Since I had known Panagbenga Festival, there were no time that Shawarma was not present from the stalls. They were always on top regarding sales. Not sure for now because there were a lot of new food stalls which were new to my eyes. But one thing is for sure, students will still prefer it since it's affordable.😁
There you have it! See you there!
