Hello everyone, how are you today?
In my previous post, I introduced you to Dray Sap waterfall (aka Husband waterfall), and as promised, today I would like to introduce you to another must-visit waterfall in the countryside. My incense, which is Dray Nur waterfall (aka Wife waterfall). These are two waterfalls located close to each other, so if you've been to either waterfall, you should not ignore the other one.
The special thing about these two waterfalls is that although they are located close to each other and share the same Serepok river, they are located in two different provinces. While Dray Sap waterfall is located in Dak Sor commune, Krong No district, Dak Nong province, Dray Nur waterfall is in Ea Na commune, Krong Ana district, Dak Lak province. If you have read my previous post about Dray Sap waterfall, then you already know about the legend of Dray Sap waterfall and Dray Nur waterfall.
According to legend, once upon a time, a man and woman from two villages on either side of the legendary Serepok River fell passionately in love. However, they were not able to come together because of geographical separation and the prohibition of the two families. Then, on a quiet night, they decided to jump into the river to be able to be together forever. Outraged at the couple's broken love, the Serepok River splits in two at the spot where the couple jumped to form Husband waterfall (Dray Sap waterfall) and Wife waterfall (Dray Nur waterfall).
To get to Dray Nur waterfall, you can visit Dray Sap waterfall eco-tourism area first. Then from Dray Sap waterfall, you can walk to Dray Nur waterfall. It took me about 20 minutes to walk through a small forest and 2 suspension bridges to reach Dray Nur waterfall from Dray Sap waterfall. If there had been these two bridges before, the couple would not have had to jump into the river. The path between the two waterfalls is also very beautiful with the old forest. There are large trees with hundreds to thousands of years old with magnificent roots clinging to the cliffs. I feel that nature is so wonderful!
Compared to Dray Sap waterfall, Dray Nur waterfall is bigger with a width of 150m and a height of about 30m. Like Dray Sap waterfall, the strong water of Dray Nur waterfall forms a white column of water. I got wet when I stood close to it because of the spray of water rising from the base of the falls. However, the sunlight through the water makes the waterfall even more beautiful. I guess in the rainy season it will look even more majestic because of the more water. In front of the waterfall is a large valley where we can admire its massive beauty. Behind the waterfall is a cave about 3000 square meters. Unfortunately I didn't have enough time to explore this cave, I hope you will do. And in my opinion, the best time to visit these two waterfalls is in the afternoon because I like the color of the afternoon sun in my hometown, it makes these waterfalls more beautiful.
In my opinion, Dray Sap waterfall and Dray Nur waterfall have their own beauty. While Dray Sap waterfall (Husband waterfall) has a gentle beauty, flowing through rocks and tree roots, Dray Nur waterfall (Wife waterfall) has a strong beauty with big current of water pouring down from above. It sounds unreasonable, but it makes a lot of sense for the Ede ethnic minority here. The Ede are one of the few ethnic groups that follow the matrilineal system. According to ancient tradition, the most powerful person in the Ede family is a woman. The matrilineal society of the Ede is a woman-owned society. Children are born with the mother's last name, not the father's last name.
Given the mountainous terrain, there are quite a few waterfalls in my hometown, but here are two that I love the most not only for their beauty but also for the legend behind them. I hope you like them too. Thank you for taking the time to read my post. Have a nice day!
Gorgeous waterfall, but the photos are cool too.

Beautiful photographs and waterfall. Such a lovely legend.
I like the trees and all the “roots” (couldn’t think of the correct English word)
It looks like a beautiful area to wander around. 😊
Thank you very much friend!
I like that tree too, actually it looks bigger in real life.
You are welcome 😊 wow even bigger, cool.
So I see that the two waterfalls are a married couple
That long wooden bridge must be a dream to walk on.
A great post mate.

Thank you very much for your lovely words.
It's kind of funny when several people walk on that bridge at the same time. I felt like I stepped on the waves, I stepped down but I went up.
My pleasure and yes I also know that feeling of walking on the waves on a long wooden bridge. It is called a ripple effect.

Waterfall is the most amazing natural phenomenon anyone can ever enjoy at its best. Even though I have always been fascinated by a volcano, that's deadly; let alone enjoying them.
Thank you very much.
I have never had a chance to see a volcano, but it sounds interesting!
I haven't seen it either, but will. One day.
excellent work friend. These trails are really cool.
This bridge is amazing. I loved the giant roots.
It brings me a lot of nostalgic feeling haha. I saw that there are signs at the waterfall. Is it possible to swim in them?
You have sharp eyes friend.
Yes, we are not allowed to swim there because the waterfall is very strong.
Thank you for your lovely words.
Wow, there is like a cool but scary cave behind the waterfall. Can people get there? Also is very interesting that according the legend you told us the last time, the guy and the girl jumped to the river to be together but later the river divided, so they are not together in a sense. Greetings!
Yep people can go into the cave, unfortunately I didn't have enough time. And yeah you are very smart to see that point, but I think the locals made up the legend to explain why there are two waterfalls separating from a river.
It is very beautiful and I love the stories of 2 waterfall.
I love the legend too, the local people were very creative!
This is an amazing place, you made it look like a fairytale!
Keep going with these amazing work!
Thank you very much for your lovely words. Have a nice day!
