Hello, friends of the WorldMapping community! It's a pleasure to be here. I want to tell you about my experience, the feelings I had, and the pleasant visit that was such an honor for me to the city of Mérida, specifically to the El Velo de la Novia waterfall. This is truly one of the places located on the Andes road in the state of Mérida. More than a planned visit, it is usually on the way when you go up to the Mucubají Lagoon. Of course, as we were seeing those Venezuelan moors, that beauty and the fog, every moment we climbed and managed to get much higher, we truly felt that connection with nature: the greenery, the fresh air, and all that.

That's how we decided to stop here, at Velo de la Novia, which, as I mentioned, is located in the páramos of Mérida. There is a fee to pay, which is practically nothing, around 0.20 cents for access, both for parking and to go down to see the waterfall. You automatically feel a very pleasant climate. The sun was perfect, and the sound of the birds was quite pronounced, as was the sound of the waterfall.

We decided to go down, and of course, I recommend wearing appropriate footwear, as the descent can be a bit tricky if you don't have the right shoes. I also want to point out that it has a rather peculiar name, apparently due to romantic legends. There is a story about a bride who threw herself into the waterfall because of heartbreak or something like that... I'm not quite sure, but they are mostly legends, so to speak. When you arrive in Mérida, I think this should be one of the places to visit for anyone who goes there, because the experience is really beautiful and the weather is very pleasant. The waterfall is approximately 40 meters high. It has some very nice paths where you can take spectacular photos and see some beautiful flowers.

I could see that when that small tragedy or landslide occurred, there was evidence of it, as some of the railings on the way up to Velo de la Novia were slightly damaged, but fortunately nothing serious. Similarly, it was possible to appreciate how beautiful, special, and pleasant this place is. That's how I was fortunate enough to visit this place with my family and enjoy it so much. I breathed fresh air and took some spectacular photos that will remain in my memory. I enjoyed the outdoors and what true nature is all about. So please, if you ever have the opportunity to go to Mérida or are in the moors, don't hesitate to stop here and enjoy this wonderful spectacle.
