Las Cañitas: The Wonderful Sub-Neighborhood of Palermo, Buenos Aires [ENG/ESP]

There are certain neighborhoods that through studies have been shown to be the most coveted in the city of Buenos Aires, in fact there are 3 at the top of that list, people look for these places because they are the most picturesque, in terms of gastronomy, beautiful landscapes and lots of vegetation that contrasts the urbanism. These three neighborhoods are Belgrano, Palermo and Las Cañitas, although the latter is not a neighborhood as such but a sub-neighborhood of Palermo.

Many people confuse this and associate it with Belgrano because of the area where it is located, but it really belongs to Palermo.

It's an area with lots of vegetation, tree-lined streets, arches composed of these trees that form a kind of natural tunnel and is visually captivating, as a sample I leave the first photo of one of the many streets that have this aesthetic.

Being one of the most desired neighborhoods for people to live in, it should also be noted that there is greater security in this area, there are also many embassies, school zones and a beautiful design in relation to the houses that remain there. The main avenues and side streets are mostly cobblestone, the houses are English style and almost everything has a lot of vegetation around it. Obviously it is a very expensive area, not everyone can afford to pay rent in an apartment there, the prices are very high.

There you can find almost in every corner a security booth that is currently used for the surveillance of the neighborhood. They are old booths that still retain their function over the years.

It's almost impossible to take a picture and not have a tree or branches in the composition. Besides this, what I like about Las Cañitas is that it has really imposing structures, emblematic in relation to architecture in different styles. One of them is the San Benito Abad parish, a very popular church in the area of romantic style known for the numerous marriages and baptisms, founded at the beginning of the last century.

I have always wanted to spend more time to get to know everything inside but every time I visit the place I do it very quickly. I hope to be able to fulfill this wish very soon.

At that time I did not have a wider lens so I only took pictures of the upper part of the church.

Another structure worth admiring is the "Esclavas del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús" school, It's a pretty strong name I would say because of the slaves thing but I'm not going to talk about it but rather admire the headquarters, which is what I always do in religious buildings... This is a school, nothing more than that, a Catholic school obviously aimed at initial and secondary academic training but under Catholicism.

The cathedral is neo-Gothic in style, I don't need to do much research to know, and I only took two photos (sorry about that 😅) I hope to return with time and more lenses that can help me get better and more attractive shots to dedicate a complete article to both cathedrals.

A small tour of this sub-neighborhood of Palermo and longed for by many. I hope you liked both the photos and the information. Have a great weekend.

Thanks a lot for the support :)

It's almost impossible to take a picture and not have a tree or branches in the composition.

Sometimes trees can be really in the way although you can also use them in your advantage by using them to frame your image as you have done with the second photo of the red tower.
I often have more problems with electricity poles and cables, especially with old buidlings.

Thanks for the tour I love that the area has so many trees and such cool architecture and yes many of it an English style

It's seem to turn the silence in the photo into life.

Old constructions, new constructions, nature and humans above all. Very nice photos!

Very nice, your pictures really give a storyline to the neighbourhood.
