Wandering Clouds - A Little Corner For Dreamers ☁️

If you visit Da Lat, you definitely don't miss a cafe with a very "dreamy" name - May Lang Thang Cafe (Wandering Clouds).

Wandering clouds is one of the places on the must-visit list in this early 2022 journey of my family. The reason is that my family likes to listen to acoustic music as well as covers of famous singers. More than 1 year ago, while surfing on youtube, I accidentally saw May Lang Thang cafe's youtube channel. At that time, I felt like I discovered a treasure, because this is the kind of music that I love. I also heard that there are many famous amateur singers who have made a lot of money since singing at this cafe.

May Lang Thang is located in a small alley in the center of Da Lat city. We moved here by car. The distance from our hotel to May Lang Thang cafe is about 5km, but it takes us about 30 minutes to move, the reason is that the roads in Da Lat are quite narrow and very steep. If we are going on a slope and meet another car going in the opposite direction, we are in big trouble.

I think next time we will choose motorbikes as the main means of transport when we return to Da Lat, riding motorbikes can both admire the whole beauty of the city and easily wriggle into places to visit easily. The cold air here is also quite interesting to enjoy.

In front of May Lang Thang cafe, there are a few small stalls selling handmade products. Products from the local brand are combined with May Lang Thang cafe so that guests coming here can both enjoy music and shop for souvenirs.

The space inside the cafe is spacious. At a time when the epidemic has not yet broken out, the cafe can receive up to 200 guests per night. May Lang Thang cafe is a combination of cafe, bar and restaurant. Most guests come here to both enjoy music and eat and drink with friends.

We came here at 6pm, the groups started singing. The singers here are mostly young people. Some of them are students, others are working but passionate about music, so they sing together in cafes and teahouses similar to May Lang Thang cafe. I think appearing on the YouTube channel with more than 160N subscribers of May Lang Thang cafe is also an opportunity for amateur singers to promote themselves. In Vietnam, there are many famous singers by singing at such cafes, such as Ammee, Nguyen Ha, Manh Dinh, Hoang Dung,etc. they are all young and promising singers.

Looking out over the romantic pine hills, sipping a glass of wine and listening to acoustic music made us immerse in the atmosphere here. The chilly feeling of the winter afternoon in Da Lat made life seem to slow down a few beats, we fully enjoyed every moment.

In Da Nang, I also went to a few cafes with acoustic music like May Lang Thang cafe. The singer also covers songs very well (haha of course), but I think only cafes in Da Lat give me a chill feeling. I also enjoyed the street performances in Da Lat. Sitting on the sidewalk in the cold, enjoying a cup of hot soy milk, hot corn, baked sweet potato, or a Da Lat grilled rice paper and listening to covers is a great experience.

Our first trip of the year had such interesting moments. Hopefully, if you have the opportunity to visit Da Lat, don't forget to visit May Lang Thang cafe.
