Frontino, a tiny village full of surprises

On a hot Sunday in August driving back from the sea, you avoid all the busy roads to avoid getting stuck in traffic and come across a tourist sign inviting you to go to a small village in the Apennines called Frontino.

Frontino is a small town of about 290 inhabitants in the Province of Pesaro-Urbino in the Marche region of Italy. The historic part of the village is really small, a main street that all the buildings in the village overlook and two side streets that line and close it all, setting the village among the trees.

Walking through the main street, we notice many scarecrows arranged by the street, we discover a contest to vote for the best scarecrow, unfortunately, however, we could not vote--they were all too beautiful to choose!

Among the various scarecrows was a Church which, unfortunately, we could not visit, some closed stores, the town hall, and a museum. The museum was actually a small room, with chairs, pictures and photographs on the walls.

At the end of the village is a square, with a fountain, a sculpture, and a tower that is what remains of an ancient fortification.

From the tower openings on the upper floor, you can get a full picture of the village.

It took very little time to visit the whole small village, but it was worth the stop. You can see that everything is excellently maintained, there is attention to tourists approaching the village. Definitely a place to return to at leisure, maybe not on a hot August Sunday.

Frontino, un piccolissimo borgo ricco di sorprese

Una calda domenica di agosto in macchina di ritorno dal mare, eviti tutte le strade trafficate per non rimanere bloccato nel traffico e ti imbatti in un cartello turistico che ti invita ad andare in un piccolo borgo tra gli Appennini che si chiama Frontino.

Frontino è un piccolo comune di circa 290 abitanti nella Provincia di Pesaro-Urbino nelle Marche. La parte storica del paese è veramente piccola, una strada principale su cui si affacciano tutti gli edifici del paese e due stradine laterali che costeggiano e chiudono il tutto, incastonando il paese tra gli alberi.

Passeggiando per la via principale, notiamo molti spaventapasseri disposti presso la via, scopriamo un concorso per votare il miglior spaventapasseri, purtroppo però non siamo riusciti a votare... erano tutti troppo belli per scegliere!

Tra i vari spaventapasseri si trovava una Chiesa che, purtroppo, non abbiamo potuto visitare, alcuni negozi chiusi, il municipio e un museo. Il museo in realtà era una piccola stanza, con delle sedie, quadri e fotografie alle pareti.

Alla fine del Paese si trova una piazza, con una fontana, una scultura e una torre che è quello che rimane di un'antica fortificazione.

Dalle aperture della torre al piano superiore, si riesce ad avere un'immagine completa del paese.

C'è voluto pochissimo tempo per visitare tutto il piccolo Borgo, ma è valsa la pena fermarci. Si vede che tutto è tenuto in maniera eccelsa, c'è attenzione verso i turisti che si avvicinano al paese. Sicuramente è un posto dove tornare con calma, magari non in una calda domenica d'Agosto.
