Hello Hive Travelers! This is my first time posting on this community, and I hope won't be the last one. I work in the Marketing department of an animal nutrition business. So, naturally, part of my job is to travel around Argentina to participate in promotional events.

This has allowed me to visit some places I never thought I'd visit. For example, last year I took a trip to Corrientes. This time, the final destination was Buenos Aires.

Hola Hivers viajeros! Esta es mi primera vez posteando en esta comunidad, y espero que no sea la última. Trabajo en el departamento de marketing de una empresa de Nutrición Animal. Así que naturalmente, parte de mi trabajo es viajar por Argentina para particicpar de eventos promocionales. Esto me ha permitido visitar algunos lugares que jamás pensé conocer. Por ejemplo, el año pasado viajé a Corrientes. Esta vez, el destino final era Buenos Aires.

Buenos Aires has always had this 'special charm' for me. I try to travel every year, cause I have lots of friends there...and I'm also completely in love with the big city. Not so long ago I was planning to move there...but life led me otherwise.

On this opportunity, we had to organize an institutional stand in Palermo's La Rural. We were there to participate in "Nuestros Caballos", a four-day event that revolved around horses.

Since La Rural is at Palermo, we looked for a hotel that was near. We stayed at Palermo's Dazzler Hotel. This is super nice from Monday to Thursday but almost impossible to bear at the weekends, cause there are tons of bars and pubs surrounding it. Without a corporate fee, it's an expensive hotel, so if you're planning to travel around the weekend...you may want to avoid this hotel in particular.

Buenos Aires siempre ha tenido este "encanto especial" para mi. Intento viajar cada año, porque tengo muchos amigos allí...y estoy completamente enamorada de la gran ciudad. De hecho, hace un tiempo pensé en mudarme allí...pero la vida me llevó para otro lado.
En esta oportunidad teníamos que organizar un stand institucionl en La Rural de Palermo, en un evento que se llamaba "Nuestros Caballos" y duró cuatro días.
Como La Rural está en Palermo, buscamos un hotel cerca de allí. Nos quedamos en el Hotel Dazzler de Palermo. Es un hotel muy hermoso de martes a jueves, pero como está en una zona repleta de bares y boliches, es casi imposible de tolerar los fines de semana. Sin una tarifa corporativa es un hotel muy caro, así que si estás intentando viajar durante el fin de semana, te recomiendo que vayas a otro lado.

We arrived on Wednesday, and the event started on Thursday. When I travel for events, it's really hard for me to enjoy the locations I visit. This is because most of the time the 'daily' routine is: waking up, having breakfast, working from 8 am to 10 pm at the event, and going back to the hotel for a bite and a good night's sleep. This time, we arrived a day early and my co-worker had never visited Buenos Aires. So this was my chance to show her around my favorite places to go.

I'm not an outgoing person. I prefer calm places with natural beauty to loud places with alcohol and music. So I took her first to the Botanic Garden -which is right in front of La Rural-. We walked around for an hour or so, searching for cats. The Botanic Garden is famous for the number of cats living there. It's said that the famous writer Jorge Luis Borges used to spend lots of time in the Garden, writing and playing around with the cats. Unfortunately, we only found one kitten.

Llegamos el día miércoles y el evento comenzaba el jueves. Cuando viajo por eventos ,es muy difícil para mi disfrutar de los lugares. Esto porque la rutina diaria es despertarse, desayunar, trabajar de 8am a 10 pm, volver al hotel, cenar e irse a dormir. Esta vez, llegamos un día antes y mi compañera de trabajo nunca había visitado buenos aires. Así que fue mi oportunidad de mostrarle los distintos lugares que más me gustan.
No soy una persona muy extrovertida. Prefiero los lugares calmados con naturaleza a los bares. Así que la llevé al Jardín Botánico -que esta justo en frente de La Rural-. Caminamos por una hora más o menos buscando gatos. El Jardín Botánico es famoso por sus gatos. Se dice que el escritor Jorge Luis Borges solía pasar mucho tiempo en el Jardín, escribiendo y jugando con los gatos. Desafortunadamente, solo encontramos un gatito.

Because I wanted to see animals I took her to the Ecoparque next. The Ecoparque is a place that used to be a Zoo. Because of animal rights, the zoo was closed down and the animals were relocated to their natural habitats. There are only a few animals left, for example, tons of hares and peacocks, who can run freely through the park and are not afraid of visitors. We also saw a few animals that couldn't be relocated yet. Those are covered with walls because they don't want people to alter them. But we got a peak of a Buffalo and a Giraffe. I used to love Zoos, but now they just make me sad. This is way better since animals are there free and happy.

It was still early so I took her to one final location before going back to the hotel: The Japanese Garden. I love this place. It's beautiful and peaceful. The only problem was that we got there on foot, so we got there 30 minutes before closing time. I wanted to have tea at the restaurant, but this was also closing soon. Too bad.

Como quería ver animales, la llevé luego al Ecoparque. El Ecoparque es un lugar que solía ser un zoológico. Por los derechos animales, el zoológico fue cerrado y los animales llevados de nuevo a sus hábitats. Solo qeudaban algunos animales, por ejemplo liebres y pavos reales, que pueden correr libres por el parque y no le temen a los visitantes. También vimos a algunos animales que aún no pudieron ser relocalizados. Estos están cubiertos por paredes porque no quieren que la gente los estrese. Pero pudimos ver una Jirafa y un Buffalo. Solía amar los zoológicos pero ahora me ponen muy triste. Esto es mucho mejor, porque los animales están libres y felices.
Todavía era temprano así que llevé a mi compañera a un lugar más antes de irnos al hotel de nuevo: El Jardín Japonés. Amo ese lugar. ES hermoso y tranquilo. El único problema es que fuimos a pie, así que llegamos 30 minutos antes de que cerraran. Quería tomar el té en el restaurante, pero también estaba por cerrar. Qué mal.

My co-worker was happy, she likes traveling but never got to do it. So, this express visit was a good thing for her. I came back wondering if my destiny wasn't there, in this city I love so much.

Guess that for now, I'll settle with visiting again next month when we have another event.

Mi compañera estaba feliz. Le gusta viajar pero nunca pudo hacerlo. Esta visita express fue algo bueno para ella. Y yo me volví pensando si mi destino no estaba ahí, en esta ciudad que amo tanto.
Creo que por ahora me conformo con volver a finales de mayo, para otro evento.
