Hi,
I have always liked and will always like the coastal cities of northern Spain with their beaches, generally shaped like shells moulded by the perfect sculptor that is the Cantabrian Sea.
The last coastal city I visited this week was the city of Santander, where I was able to enjoy almost 3 kilometres of promenade next to the beaches of the Sardinero.
Along the promenade I was grateful that there were some nicely landscaped parks which in turn served as viewpoints.
Part of the promenade takes you into a park next to the beach, so you can enjoy the smell of the grass, the trees and the scent of the sea.
In one of the parks I came across one of my favourite sculptures.
This sculpture alludes to Don Quixote de La Mancha with his lance and if you go at dawn you can play with the newly risen sun to thrust the lance at him.
But my walk along the Sardinero beach was on this occasion at sunset and I spent a long time watching some young people riding the waves surfing.
I also spent a lot of time watching some gentlemen fishing from the promenade. But in the 10 minutes I was there I didn't see any fish out of the water.
Once I reached the end of the promenade I retraced my steps and stopped at a lagoon created by the sea where the orange sunset sky was reflected as if it were this small raft of water, a crystal.
And in a small corner of the beach an anonymous sculptor built with the sand a sculpture of a lizard which is my entry to the #pobphotocontest organised by @friendlymoose.
Although, to tell the truth, I was struck by the detail of his work when I noticed that he had taken advantage of a crack in the floor of the beach to make a bigger hole and place a hand of sand at the end as if someone mysterious was coming out of the depths.
Maybe it's Golum's hand from Lord of the Rings. Since there's a ring of sand near the hand.

Undoubtedly, a nice walk through another city in the north of Spain with beautiful beaches.
Greetings.
