Spello is a medieval village that is located in Umbria in central Italy, in ancient times was also a Roman colony, of which you can still admire the ancient fortified walls best preserved in Italy.
The village can be accessed from three beautiful doors
In the Middle Ages Spello was crossed by continuous conflicts, remained for a long time under papal rule that lasted until 1870.
Very important is the historical manifestation of the Infiorata, which is renewed every year on the day of Corpus Domini (ninth Sunday after Easter), where they are reproduced with flowers of religious figures, for a path of about 1.5 km. The inhabitants, in this period, participate in a competition in which the winner is who exposes the most beautiful flowers outside the balcony of the house. If you have the possibility to visit it during the Infiorata, you won't regret it.
There are many things to visit in Spello: the church of Santa Maria Maggiore, the church of Sant'Andrea, the Pinacoteca Comunale, the Villa dei Mosaici.
Today it is a wonderful medieval village where it is easy to get lost among the various streets, a place where you can rest while enjoying the tranquility of the place and the excellent local cuisine.

Caspiterina! Ma questo posto è un capolavoro! Incredibile… l’Italia è fantastica
l'Italia sarebbe un posto meraviglioso se non fosse per chi la governa
I have always wanted to visit Spello! I've been to umbria so many times but not here yet 😊 I love little villages with narrow streets and Spello seems to have quite a few!!!
