Are you a coffee lover and love to immerse yourself in nature? If so, then there's no better way to enjoy your holiday than going to a coffee farm and seeing the habitat of this majestic and aromatic plant!

Before when I think of coffee, a well-packed/vacuum-sealed Valve ready to brew coffee with an expiration date on it is the first thing I pictured out.

Never in my wildest imagination, that I could get a chance to see how real coffee is grown and witness how it's done from farm to table!.

So in this blog, let me bring you to my fantastic and fruity experience as I visited and explored Tuburan Coffee Farm!

Tuburan Coffee Farm - a little background

Tuburan Coffee is the first coffee provider in the whole province of Cebu. Since it is promoting crop yield from small-scale farming, the farm only specializes in one coffee specie which is Robusta, and begin to venture into the Arabica variety. It is naturally grown on 2,870 hectares of plantation situated in the town of Tuburan, Cebu.

The coffee farm was established in 2012 by the town's mayor, Mayor Aljun Diamante. He initiated the move to plant coffee trees in the highlands of Tuburan- Brgy Kabangkalan Tuburan. This move marked a significant part in the lives of all Tuburanons as this provide a sustainable livelihood to the people

What's inside Tuburan Coffee Farm

As soon as you reached the highlands of Kabangkalan, Tuburan, Cebu, a coffee-filled and coffee-scented mountain will soothe your senses.

At the entrance of the farm, a lush-vined arc will welcome you. Inside you will directly see the steaming containers for the coffee seedlings. This is used to steam coffee seedlings for fast growth and reproduction of fruit.

The Nursery

Situated on top of the coffee farm, is a small tasting facility that houses its raw products, such as coffee cherries and beans. Oh, they also have coffee drip bags. In the house, a very accommodating staff of the farm will give you a warm coffee- freshly brewed as a sort of welcoming. It's the literal handshake on the right and a cup of coffee on the left type of welcome!

I was genuinely surprised because the delicious freshly brewed coffee is served for FREE! Where can you find such hospitality? I'm super touched- touched to the bones Aaahhh😍.(Oh wait was it just me? Or I'm just so overwhelmed in my first ever coffee farm experience)

Freshly picked coffee cherries.

While sipping the coffee, the farm guide (Sir Alvin) shared with us a little orientation and background about the coffee, the ways how to plant it, and until it's ready for harvest. I was perplexed and was amazed by every little bit of knowledge I got together with each little sip of coffee I made. What am I amazed by the most is the manual process of picking the cherry from the tree and how the beans are meticulously sorted out four(4) times just to extract the best quality beans. The coffee farmers are extremely dedicated to their work.

Wanna help to sort these beans out?

Look at those beautiful beans been sorted out!

The ambiance-

The coffee farm's house aesthetic interior is an eye-catch. The calm setting, the open-air windows, and the homeyness feel of it is a hundred percent perfect background for picture taking. It is instagrammable -Worthy!

And when you look outside all you could see are the parades of the magnificent coffee tree! From nursery to ready-to-harvest coffee cherry. You will see green color wherever you look at the farm!

The farm uses the "FRT label" to distinguish the coffee variety.

My first time touching coffee cherries on its tress.😍

I thought I could only "see and enjoy" the farm and its richness, but my eyes grew wide open as Sir Alvin offered us to come inside and check their coffee machinery! I was holding back the happiness I felt as I watched and laid my fingers on the smooth machinery! Sir Alvin even demonstrated to us how the coffee beans are grind and brew. It's a fantastic "From farm to table" experience!.

From that experience, I realized how much work is put into making and serving coffee. From there I got to see and understand a cup of coffee to a whole new level.

How to get to Tuburan Coffee?

2_20220623_141754_0001.png

📍From Cebu city ride a bus going to Tuburan. Double-check the bus sign if it's going to Tuburan or else you will get lost. The drop-off point is Tuburan Bus Terminal, from which ride a habal-habal or a private motorbike. Just tell the driver that you are going to Tuburan Coffee Farm and they will bring you to your destination right in front of the coffee farm.
During the ride, don't forget to take pictures as the landscape is very beautiful along the way.

📍For private vehicles, just head to Tuburan and ask the locals about your destination and they will gladly teach you how to get there.

So far, exploring a coffee farm is one of my best travel experiences because not only that I get some beautiful views and green vegetation and had a taste of freshly brewed coffee but on top of it all, I learn how to appreciate a single coffee bean and develop high respect to the coffee farmers.

Yaaaayyy.🥰., you'll surely love the place @danaperez,.🥰

It was truly a very immersive experience for me to experience how to coffee is being produced and little did I know that there is lots of efforts behind the scene and that should also be appreciated. Plus I loved the photos where you actually showed coffee cherries which I never seen before.

I thought so too before @sajjadalibhayo that coffee is easier made than its brewing preparation.😁 I just realized how meticulous the process is, starting from picking the coffee cherries, to sorting, roasting, packaging and then the brewing part!. And I just learned too that coffee is a fruit itself! I thought it's a seed.! 😅
