It was a warm, sunny day in Kaş, a charming village located on the Mediterranean coast of Turkey. In the heart of the historic center, every street seems to tell a story.
We started our walk near the pier, a busy yet peaceful place where colorful boats gently dance on the blue water. The golden morning light bathed the entire harbor, creating the perfect backdrop for our first photos.
After walking along the sea, our steps led us to one of the most famous streets of Kaş – Doğruyol Caddesi. Limiting myself to my limited knowledge of Turkish, I can decipher this name as something like "the road of truth" or "the right road".
This street embodies all the charm and authenticity of old Kaş. On both sides rise wooden houses, decorated with wonderful carved balconies, which immediately catch the eye.
Each house seems to have its own personality, expressed through bright colors and carefully thought-out architectural details. The lens of my phone could not miss any of them.
The atmosphere here is unique, we could almost imagine the scenes of the past years when these houses were inhabited by families who lived to the rhythm of the sea and local trade. Although even at the present time, the beautiful Turks still continue to follow all the rules by wearing headscarves and closed junk on themselves.
All the houses are used for shops of clothes or souvenirs for tourists and there are also small cafes where you can stop to drink a beautiful traditional Turkish tea which is my mandatory diet at every convenient moment.
Continuing our ascent, we made an exciting discovery: a royal tomb called Kral Mezarı on Google maps. This ancient sarcophagus, engraved in stone, is a real door to the past. It seems to keep the secret of the civilizations that once flourished here.
Contemplating this monument, you can almost feel the burden of centuries. But our research did not end there. Climbing a little further, we found avenues lined with palm trees, where the silence was broken only by the murmur of the wind. From here there is a view of the majestic mountains surrounding Kaş, adding a touch of grandeur to the already idyllic landscape.
Streets with uneven cobblestones and flowered corners invite you to dream. Then there are traditional houses with characteristic shutters, this vibe, as if you really got into a puppet city, even though it is in Turkish lands, they reminded me a bit of the aesthetics of Alexander Pushkin's Slavic poem "The Tale of Tsar Saltan".
Local residents seem to live in the rhythm of their city, in harmony with its eternal charm. In general, if you could hear the Turkish motto, this is the harmony of the small and the big, nothing can not match it here. At first glance, commotion for a foreigner is actually harmony for locals. The charm of Kaş is in the details: old wooden doors worn by time, a cat dozing on the steps of the house, creepers hugging the balconies. Kaş is a destination that tempts with its diversity.
This is a place where you can get lost and find yourself, where a walk opens up new facets of beauty. This is a city where every moment is an adventure, every corner is a discovery, and every memory is a treasure worth preserving. A day in Kashi, like the one we spent, is an unforgettable experience.
The next day we've got cloudy weather and we decided to drive around the peninsula to explore the local landscapes. Kaş is known for its lush vegetation and extraordinary plants.
Also by adorable unusual Mediterranean bay contrasting with orange mountains. We drove around this island and even got a small car accident. Islands and villas along the coast were adorable, the weather was rainy, but still epic and atmospheric.
Lovely, all these colourful wooden balconies.

So many colors - What a fresh post 😍👍
I'm pleased to hear such nice words 🙏🏼💕
There is a part where you say that you lose and discover yourself, you reminded me of Marcel Proust when he said that the true art of discovery does not consist in going out in search of new lands, but in learning to see the old land with new eyes.
I love those wooden balconies.
Happy festive season, @bugavi.
this phrase makes sense, it needs to learn that.
I'm pleased to hear 🙏🏼💕
