RE: Tawas Point State Park: The Good, The Bad, and The Beautiful

Oh yeah, this park has a bike path that goes all the way back into town. It's probably a mile or two to get to the downtown area, but it is very bike-able. They have actually been working for a while on a full bike path that basically runs all the way up the coast of Lake Huron.

Michigan does a really good job with the nature bike paths. I lived in 3 different places there on assignment with the government and one I was really concerned about was Battle Creek because it looked, no offense, like a washed up has-been industrial dump. It kind of was exactly that actually. There were still tons of mountain biking paths all over the place though and this made my assignment there a lot more manageable.

I work with a guy who loves to mountain bike. He heads up to copper harbor a couple times a year to get his fix. You can actually ride down a mountain up there.
