Hi everyone, back with another epic trip update.
The previous couple of posts follow the Nashville and the beginning the SF parts of the trip.
Before sharing the start of Yosemite, I realised I need to feature just a few remaining locations in SF.
After picking up some breakfast from the old ferry building, the walk continued north following the shoreline of the bay, taking in the views around to Pier 39.
Unlike the other piers, this one is a major tourist attraction featuring an aquarium and packed full of bars, restaurants, novelty shops and live shows.
There is a sea lion viewing area- they come to rest after feeding in the bay. It was so loud, I could have sat for hours watching them swim around, fight for space on the rafts and play.
Lombard Street.
Famous for the winding part in the middle, there is a steep elevation change leading up to the top but it's worth it for the views! The line featuring the original trams are still in operation and takes you to the top.
Golden Gate Promenade,
Looking north towards Alcatraz and the bridge. From here, I decided to use Uber for the 10 minute journey to the other side of Golden Gate Bridge and not a windy 45 minute walk...one way!
Taking in the views from the north side of the bay!
Bonus sunset shot over the Golden Gate Bridge from the hotel bar
The 'Painted Ladies' mentioned in the previous post.
High five zone in Golden Gate park
Without making this entry too long, a snippet of what's to come in the final parts of this series..
Take care everyone, until next time for the final updates to this epic trip.
We crammed so much into the few days we spent in each place!
