Fun Activities at Papa Kit's Marina and Fishing Lagoon, Liloan, Cebu

in Worldmappinlast year

When you have the time and energy but doesn't have enough resources to travel, (so sad), all that there is to do is to look back and relive the past travel moments.

In this blog let me share to you my fun and adrenaline rushing experience in Papa Kit's Marina and Fishing Lagoon located in Liloan, Cebu City.

Let's gooo!

We rode a bus at North Bus Terminal, Mandaue City that will pass by the town of Liloan. It was approximately an hour bus ride that navigates through the heavy traffic in Mandaue City.

We had no idea of the location of the place and just instructed the bus driver to drop us to the place. At the entrance is a large painted wall indicating the name of the place.

With its name, you probably think that activities here are limited to fishing and water sports or anything related to water but, there are varied activities that you can do here.

The place is wide and if you want to see the whole area, that would take time to do it if you intend to do ot by walkig. Since we were there to try their fun activities, we can't use up our time to look around. An electric shuttle carried us to the activity area.

The view along the way are mostly swampy areas which were developed to be used for water activities.

There was also a wide area with trees and horses. I must say it was my favorite view along the way to the activity area.

After a few minutes of the electric shuttle ride, we arrived at the activity area. There were so many activities to choose from but we chose activities that won't make our clothes wet, dirty or muddy. We chose to try the zipline, jungle obstacle and hanging bridges. And also, these are not so strenuous and won't hurt our muscles so much after.

I was excited to try the activities. It would be my first time and though it was a bit scary to do it, my excitement to try something new persisted.

The Jungle Obstacle and Hanging Bridge

These activities involves ropes. The first one was like a spider web that we had to climb to arrive into a platform buil on the branches of a tree.

I did not expect it to be too easy. 😆

When you're up on the platform, the next thing to do was to cross the hanging bridge. The bridge was made of pieces of hanging wood platforms that you have to step on one by one to be able to finish the task. It required us to be careful and have a good grip at the ropes and good balance. At first I thought it was so easy. But when I was up there, my kness started to shake a bit. It's because as you step on the wood, the next wood were swinging and it was a little hard to maintain balance. You have to HODL or hold on to dear life or you'd fall.

The next obstacle was to walk on a wire. Now, I think I could pass as a circus performer. Haha! It's the harder part since we need to HODL more than ever especially when the wire would swing with the wind and with the movement of the people crossing it. As I write this part, my palms were sweating as if I was doing it again.

After crossing the wire, which for me was the most challenging part, the final part was a hanging bridge. It's different from the first one since it's not swinging indiviadually, so walking on this bridge was the easiest part. I felt relieved of the nervousness after finishing the obstacles. But overall it was super fun, adventure, adrenaline rushing and can really test your coordination and balance.

The Zipline

We then proceeded to the next activity which was the zipline. The cables of the zipline were attached to a three-story tower where we had a 360 degree view of the area.

The cable is attached to another tower on an island in the lagoon. We had to pass above the water as we zipline. Then we would zipline back again to the mainland.

So it was my turn already to zipline. I was nervous at first but I told my self that I had to do it. How would I know how it feels if I won't do it. I'd be missing out on life I retreated.

once kuya let go of the rope, I was on my own

And when he let go, my heart was pumping loud and I was a bit shaking. I just held on the rope. When I saw the view below me which was the water, it was incredible. The water was clear and you can see what's in the water. Glad there weren't any crocodiles hahaha. The view helped me to relax and think of good things rather than think negative thoughts of what might happen.

I landed safe on the tower on the island. Ziplining back to the mainlad, the staff told us that we can go together with the husband. So we did, ziplined together back. I felt more secured and lesd nervous.

this was the landing area of zipliners from the tower on the island

Horseback Riding

Who said we had enough? Haha! Not yet. And for the last activity, we went for the horseback riding. Of course because it was our first time to ride on a horse. I wanted to know how it feels. I so admire actresses riding on a horse. They looked sa gorgeous. So, for that reason, I had to try it too. Hehe

We paid for the horse back riding. I knew it was safe since there was a handler that would walk the horse along to prevent it from running or do movements that might harm the riders.

finding my balance

enjoying the ride

And that concludes my adventures for today's throwback.

Ending this post with a reminder to enjoy life while you can.
