Lavena Ponte Tresa - Switzerland

Hello friends. I will talk about our recent trip to Lavena Ponte Tresa. This place is located on the border of Switzerland and Italy. When we first arrived we couldn't check in at the hotel called "Mantarina" yet. Our hotel was a small charming place nestled in the midst of greenery. We had arrived a bit early. As you know in hotels previous guests check out, rooms are prepared and check-ins generally happen in the afternoon. Check-in time was at three o'clock. So, to make use of this time, we left our luggage in the hotel's baggage room, took a shower in the shower room, changed clothes and then went out to see the surroundings.

The hotel provided us with transportation tickets. To Ticino, to buses, to the small funiculars. We decided to go down to the seaside, my friends and this is quite important in Switzerland because transportation prices are quite high here...

First, we reached the bridge and from there, we walked downhill, thinking we could also take the Little Funicular. According to the information we had it should have been possible. We were ready to enjoy the fantastic views of Lake Lugano and the wonderful landscapes of the city of Lugano.

This transportation ticket provided by the hotel allows for free travel. With this ticket, you can use all means of transportation. It's forbidden to throw away tickets, and the fine varies between 30 euros and 150 euros.

Something strange happened here. We thought we were boarding the funicular but ended up on a train instead. Along the way we enjoyed great views and reached the final stop. We were heading towards Lavertezzo where birds were singing a really wonderful place. Lavertezzo is a small and charming place in the Ticino Canton a region in southern Switzerland where Italian is spoken.

It was so beautiful, my friends such breathtaking views. We felt like we were in fairytales. The locals apparently call this place the Maldives of Milan. As we wandered around the sun finally appeared.

All the paths were so clean, they practically washed the pavement. I must honestly tell you that this place wasn't in our plans. We thought the funicular would take us to the center of Lugano to the waterfront. We ended up here entirely by chance. And we were so happy about it.

It's amazing how such beauty emerges. We explored all of this, maybe a kilometer or so around two kilometers. Fish, ducks – this is a wonderful place.

What a lovely chair, a wooden chair. You could take such beautiful photos here. If it weren't for this net, it would have been truly wonderful. But this way, photos are taken like this or you sit and enjoy the view across.

We had never seen what the funicular looked like before, we had accidentally boarded a train. Of course we realized later that we had gone in the wrong direction. But it turned out to be good for us. We had explored all around. As we returned on the same path we had taken on the train, we felt happy and fulfilled.
