My introduction to Have You Been Here and a little bit of Genova!
Hello everybody!! My name is Belén and I've been traveling for 6 months! I visited France, Italy, Spain and Germany! I'll share with you my adventures and the places tat I visited and those that I'm still visiting!!
I'm very happy to be here and I love to read and see all the amazing places that you share in this community!
This is my second post here, but is my presentation post, and I would also like t introduce you the amazing Genova City.
Genova
Right now, I'm vlunteering in Genova, an Italian city that is making me fall in love!!
This is from Boccadase, a little town in Genova.
Genova is a medium Italian city situated on the center-west of the country. It’ not known by many people from the world, but is very well known by Italian people.
Genova is surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea in the west (specifically Ligurian Sea) and some beautiful hills in the east. It’s located in the Ligurian region, and it’s part of the Italian Riviera (this follows the French Riviera in what we know as the Blue Cost in Europe, later I’ll share also some other post about it).
Porto Antico (Old Port)
This is a place where you can enjoy both the city life and also the nature, since very close to the center, there are many parks and even natural protected area as Cinque Terre.
A panoramic view from one of the parks
Also between little town and little town you can enjoy the sea view.
Since is a medium city, is not much contaminated by cars or buildings. Although in the center there are some big constructions, if you walk a little bit outside of it, you’ll be able to see the hills and the ocean.
The people in Genova is very kind and they always try to talk to you, even if you don’t speak Italian and they don’t speak English, they will try to start a conversation. They are very interested about tourists and they are always trying to convince you that Genova is the best of the cities (this is something very funny, at least from my point of view.
How about the food?
The food in Genova is… I have no words to explain it. Can I say Yammy yammy yammy?? I love the food here! They have a very good focaccia and pesto is the best in the entire world. Well… I haven’t been in the entire world (yet), but people here is absolutely proud of they pesto and they can assure you that is the best in the world.
In fact, some days ago I tried this thing: is a kind of pizza/ focaccia with pesto. I believe that I don’t need to say a word about it, right? It didn’t look 100% tasty, IT WAS.

The amazing focaccia al pesto!!
So if you decide to come to Genova, don’t forget to try it.
About sweet things, yes, of course, I tried them, I didn’t win 5 kilos per nothing my friends (I’m working out to low them now, lol).
Please, it’s a must: canestrelli, crostata (they have a lot, my favorite is nocciola crostata), and brioche with pistachio inside.
Also they have baci di dama, which is very tasty. I recommend that to people that like sweet things in a very moderated way.

For those like me that love huge amount of chocolate, the things that I mentioned before.
What to visit?
If you are in Genova City, you need to go to Porto Antico, and I truly recommend watching a sunset there; to Piazza della Vittoria, is very nice to go through the Arch, and then you can go upstairs and enjoy a panoramic view of the city; and Piazza De Ferrari, the fountain there is very beautiful and the “GENOVA” sign offers you a contrast between a more contemporaneous structure and the old buildings behind.

I really hope you've enjoyed this post!!
Genova is a must if you visit Italy! I've been here from January 19 and I'm still discovering the city!
