We are on the second day of December, the most beautiful and last day of the year, in which we celebrate Christmas. This month is one of the most anticipated by children, to receive the gift that Baby Jesus will bring them and to celebrate Christmas and New Year's Eve dinners with their families, with delicious food and desserts. Speaking of celebrations, I invite you to join me on a beautiful tour of Sucre Street in Cumaná, where several activities were held to commemorate the birthday of the birthplace of the Grand Marshal of Ayacucho, on November 27th, and whose activities extended until Saturday the 29th.
Every year the city dresses up to celebrate the birthday of the capital of Sucre state, and this year was no exception. It marked 510 years since its founding. This city is known as the Firstborn of the American Continent, as it was the first mission founded on the mainland by European conquerors. For this celebration, a series of cultural, theatrical, recreational, and musical activities, among others, are organized, where residents and visitors can enjoy incredible decorations from the pre-Columbian, colonial, independence, and contemporary eras. It is a kind of journey through time where events and scenes of daily life are recreated during the colonization and emancipation process of the country, especially in the east and the then-province of Cumaná, which was the stage where the independence process began after the fall of the Second Republic (information provided by a historian and chronicler of the city).
This year, as in the previous one, I went with my son, and we toured Sucre Street and some cross streets such as Bolívar Street, La Ermita, La Luneta, and more. Sucre Street is where the largest exhibition of facades, dance performances, and theatrical works alluding to old, colonial, and contemporary Cumaná are regularly held. The activities began on the famous steps of the Santa Inés Church with various musical groups, educational and governmental institutions, and companies. Then came the parade of the famous "ladies of yesteryear," a group of women and men in period costumes, who began their route from the first stage on Sucre Street at approximately five in the afternoon, welcoming visitors and marking the beginning of the various activities that take place in this grand event.
Hola amigos viajeros, es un placer saludarles deseando que tengan una excelente y bendecida semana, estamos en el segundo día del mes de diciembre, el más hermoso y último del año, en el cual se celebra la Navidad, este mes es uno de los más esperados por los niños, para recibir el regalo que les traerá el niño Jesús y celebrar en familia la cena Navideña y de fin de año, con deliciosas comidas y postres, hablando de celebraciones, les invito me acompañan en un hermoso recorrido por la calle Sucre de Cumaná donde se realizaron varias actividades para conmemorar el cumpleaños de la cuna del Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho, el día 27 del mes de noviembre y cuyas actividades se extendieron hasta el sábado 29.
Cada año la ciudad se viste de gala, para celebrar el cumpleaños de la capital del estado Sucre y este no fue la excepción, en el cual se arribó a 510 años de su fundación, esta ciudad es conocida como la Primogénita del continente Americano, al ser la primera misión fundada en Tierra firme por los conquistadores europeos, para esta celebración se organizan una serie actividades de índole cultural, teatral, recreativa musical, entre otras, donde los residentes y visitantes pueden disfrutar de increíbles decoraciones de la época aborigen (ancestral), colonial, independentista y contemporánea, es una especie de viaje en el tiempo donde se recrean eventos y escenas de la vida cotidiana, durante el proceso de colonización y emancipación del país, especialmente el oriente y la entonces provincia de Cumaná, que fue el escenario donde inició el proceso independentista tras la caída de la segunda República (información suministrada por un historiador y cronista de la ciudad).
En este año, al igual que el anterior, fui en compañía de mi hijo, e hicimos el recorrido por la calle Sucre y algunas transversales como la calle Bolívar, la Ermita, la Luneta y más, en la calle Sucre, es donde regularmente se realiza la mayor la exhibición de fachadas, presentación de bailes y obras teatrales alusivas a la Cumaná antigua, colonial y contemporánea, las actividades iniciaron en las famosas escalinatas de la iglesia Santa Inés presentación de varios grupos musicales, instituciones educativas, gubernamentales, empresas y luego el desfile de las famosas "damas de antaño" grupo de mujeres y hombres con atuendos de la época, que inician su recorrido desde la primera tarima, por la calle Sucre aproximadamente a las cinco de la tarde, dando la bienvenida a los visitantes y marcando el inicio de las diversas actividades que se desarrollan en este Magno evento.
The first station we visited was the Old-Fashioned Winery, represented by the city hall. It boasts beautiful decorations: wooden tables and chairs, a wine barrel, handcrafted fruit baskets, a green rug, period-style stools, and a wooden shelf for drinks. The winery is divided into sections: a garden, a family home, and a work area. Then there's a reenactment of families or individuals who frequented this winery, dressed in period clothing. The young women carry traditional umbrellas that match their outfits, and the employees perform domestic tasks such as threshing corn or rice in a mortar. This reenactment is very beautiful, and the walls and windows look incredibly realistic. The creativity of these people is truly boundless, as the decorations and layout of the houses hark back to the colonial era.
After visiting the old winery, we went to the fire station. This station is a favorite with children because they have the opportunity to take pictures with a firefighter's helmet. There, they also explain the evolution of the fire department and have a display of glass syringes, the first stretchers, the first uniform, and a stand featuring the captain and founder of the Cumaná fire department. Then, a group of young people training to be firefighters gave a demonstration of the procedures they follow in case of a fire, explaining and emphasizing the importance of knowing the escape routes to act quickly in these situations. My son couldn't miss this opportunity and took several pictures with the firefighter's helmet. The helmet caught my attention because it's made of leather; it's a bit heavy and sturdy.
Next is the facade of a famous colonial house, with its balcony, representing the state's cultural center. You can see the walls, tiles, side gardens, and a girl on the balcony observing the activities that families carried out during the colonial era. This facade is striking for its design and beautiful colors; it's also a great place to take lovely photographs. Its location next to the church and in front of Santa María de la Cabeza Castle makes it realistic and provides a beautiful setting.
La primera estación que visitamos fue la Bodega de antaño, representada por la alcaldía de la ciudad, esta cuenta con una hermosa decoración; mesas y sillas de madera, el barril para el vino, decoraciones con cestas artesanales para colocar las frutas, de frutas, una alfombra verde taburetes (sillas de la época), un estante de madera donde se colocan las bebidas, la bodega está dividida en secciones; jardín, casa familiar y el espacio para el trabajo, luego la escenificación de las familias o personas, que acudían a esta bodega ataviadas con trajes de la época, las jóvenes llevan el tradicional paraguas a juego con la ropa, los empleados realizando las labores domésticas como lo es trillando el maíz o arroz, en un pilón, está dramatización es muy bonita y las paredes y ventanas parecen reales, la creatividad de estas personas definitivamente no tiene límites pues las decoraciones y organización de las casas remontan a la época colonial.
Luego de visitar la bodega de antaño, nos dirigimos a la estación de los bomberos, esta estación es una de las favoritas para los niños pues tienen la oportunidad de tomarse fotografías con el casco de los bomberos, también allí explican cómo ha sido la evolución de esta institución y tienen una muestra de jeringas de vidrio, las primeras camillas, el primer traje y un stand donde se aprecia el capitan y fundador de los bomberos en la ciudad Cumaná, luego un grupo de jóvenes que se están formando como bomberos, dan una demostración de las actividades que ellos realizan en caso de un incendio explicando y haciendo énfasis que es importante conocer las vías de escape para actuar a tiempo en estos casos; mi hijo no podía perderse esta oportunidad y se hizo varias fotos con el casco de bombero; el casco llamó mi atención pues está hecho con cuero, es un poco pesado y resistente.
A continuación se encuentra la fachada de una famosa casa colonial, con su balcón y representa al centro de cultura del estado, se observan las paredes, tejas jardines laterales y una chica en el balcón observando el desarrollo de las actividades que las familias realizaban durante la época colonial, esta fachada es vistosa por su diseño y hermosos colores, aquí también se hacen lindas fotografías, su ubicación a un lado de la iglesia y al frente del castillo santa María de la Cabeza, la hace realista y con un lindo entorno.
In the following photograph, you can see the throne of the mini queen of the city adorned with her favorite toys, such as ponies. There is also an exhibition of the outfits she has worn. This girl arrives in the afternoon to be crowned and rest on her throne.
Below is a representation of an indigenous person in their traditional attire and decorations alluding to the lifestyle of ancestral tribes. When I saw this image, I thought it was a doll, but it was a child portraying this indigenous person. The child's skill surprised me, as he remained motionless for several minutes to represent the life of the region's first inhabitants.
It was a lovely experience visiting these facades that commemorate life in colonial and ancestral times. Their designs are beautiful, the colors and decorations are understated, and they constitute an important landmark for the people who come to celebrate the birthday of the firstborn of the American continent.
En la siguiente fotografía, se observa el trono de la mini reina de la ciudad adornado con sus juguetes favoritos, como son los poni, también hay una exhibición de los atuendos que ella ha usado, esta niña llega en horas de la tarde para ser coronada y descansar en su trono.

de la región, fue una linda experiencia visitar estas fachadas que rememoran la vida en la época colonial y ancestral, sus diseños son hermosos, los colores y decoraciones son sobrias y constituyen un importante punto de referencia para el encuentro de la población que acude a celebrar el cumpleaños de la primogénita del continente americano.

Este tipo de celebraciones son una forma perfecta de acercar la historia de los lugares tanto a la población local como a los turistas, pero sobre todo los niños son los que más las disfrutan. Este despliegue es una maravilla, algunas construcciones falsas he tenido que buscarlas después de leerte mencionarlas, esa gente hizo un trabajo fantástico. Las fotos de la bodega llena de personas parece que estemos viajando en el tiempo, me encantan. Solo faltaba que hubieran sido en blanco y negro, jeje. Saludos @palomap3, es la segunda vez que asisto a esta celebración y me encantó, definitivamente los encargados de hacer las fachadas tienen talento y creatividad, quedan hermosas y parecen reales, es un viaje en el tiempo donde tienes la oportunidad de conocer los atuendos de la época y el estilo de vida en la colonia.
La bodega tiene un gran mobiliario y lindos vestuarios de los visitantes y propietarios, espero muy pronto compartir la segunda parte, donde hay varias fachadas y casas de familias importantes de la época, el objetivo de esta celebración denominada "Noches de Antaño" es dar conocer el legado histórico y cultural de la ciudad.

Those responsible for creating the facades are truly talented and creative; they are beautiful and look incredibly realistic. It's a journey back in time where you have the opportunity to see the clothing of the era and the lifestyle of the colonial period.
The warehouse has wonderful furnishings and lovely costumes worn by visitors and owners. I hope to share the second part very soon, which features several facades and houses belonging to important families of the time. The goal of this celebration, called "Nights of Yesteryear," is to showcase the city's historical and cultural heritage.
