A Half-Day Trip to Koh Khai Islands!

in Worldmappin2 years ago

Hello everyone

Koh Khai is indeed a small island located in the Phang Nga province of Thailand, and it is known for its three stunning islands - Koh Khai Nok, Koh Khai Nui, and Koh Khai Nai.

Koh Khai Nok, which is the first island of the Koh Khai Island tour, is home to many cats. It is known for its fine white sandy beaches, clear blue waters, and beautiful rocks. This island is perfect for sunbathing and relaxing.

Koh Khai Nui, the second island of the tour, is a small island that is popular among tourists for snorkeling and observing the diverse coral reefs and fish species.

Koh Khai Nai, the last island of the tour, is known for the schools of fish that swim close to the beach. The island has stunning white sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters, making it an ideal spot for swimming and sunbathing.

To reach Koh Khai Island, visitors can travel from Phuket, which is only a 20-minute ride by speedboat. The island is an ideal destination for those seeking a relaxing and adventurous vacation experience.

Yesterday was a perfect day to explore the beautiful island of Koh Khai with my best friend. We were both excited to embark on this adventure and see what the island had in store for us. We decided to purchase a tour package from "Tour Phuket," a well-known company that offered the best deals and services for island hopping.

The tour package cost us 800 baht per person, which was about 23.48 USD. The company provided a free shuttle bus service for tourists who were staying in Patong, Karon, and Kata areas. However, since we were staying outside of these areas, we had to make our own way to the pier. We drove to the pier, which took us around 30 minutes.

As we walked towards the building, I could feel the cool sea breeze on my face, which added to the excitement. Inside the building, we approached the check-in counter and received a symbolic orange wristband that showed I was a part of the tour group. I was told that there was breakfast available, so I decided to grab a bite to eat before the boat departed.

We walked towards the breakfast area and chose to eat toast with strawberry jam and drink a glass of hot Ovaltine. The food was delicious and energizing, and I felt ready to take on the day.

After breakfast, I realized that we had arrived too early for the boat departure time. So, I sat and waited patiently with my friend. We chatted and took in the surroundings, eagerly waiting for the time to board the boat. To pass the time, we decided to take some selfies, capturing the excitement and anticipation on our faces. We laughed and joked around, enjoying each other's company while waiting for the boat to depart.

As the clock struck 9 a.m., our tour guide appeared and called out for all the tourists wearing the symbolic orange wristbands. We quickly gathered around him as he explained the itinerary for our trip to Khai Island. He provided us with a brief history of the island, along with a set of rules and regulations that needed to be followed during our visit. He also gave us some tips and suggestions on how to make the most of our time on the island.

Guide, he provided us with a detailed explanation of our journey to Koh Khai Island. He informed us that we would be visiting three islands, starting with Koh Khai Nok. It would take us around 50 minutes to reach the island, and we would spend some time there exploring its beauty and taking part in various activities.

Next, we would head to Koh Khai Nui, where we would go snorkeling for about 30 minutes to observe the exotic fish in the clear waters. The guide warned us that this island prohibits tourists from stepping onto the island itself, so we would have to enjoy the view from our boat.

Lastly, we would visit Koh Khai Nai, where we would spend approximately one hour before returning to the mainland. The guide emphasized the importance of adhering to the rules and regulations while visiting the islands to ensure the safety of both the tourists and the environment.

After the briefing, the guide led us towards a waiting speedboat that was docked nearby. As we approached the boat, we could hear the roaring sound of the engine, which added to the excitement. The boat was sleek and modern, with comfortable seats and safety equipment. The guide ensured that everyone was wearing life jackets before we boarded the boat.

As we boarded the speedboat, my friend and I chose to sit at the front of the boat to enjoy the view of the sea. However, the guide cautioned us about the strong waves and winds in the morning and advised us to hold on to the rails tightly and keep our hats secure.

As we set off towards Koh Khai Nok, we experienced the full force of the morning waves and winds. The speedboat rode over the waves like a rollercoaster, and my friend and I had to hold on to the rails tightly to avoid being thrown off the boat.

Despite the initial excitement, we were relieved when we reached Koh Khai Nok, the first island of our trip.

As we waited for the other tourists to disembark from the speedboat at Koh Khai Nok, my friend and I took the opportunity to take some photos at the bow of the boat. The view from the boat was breathtaking, with the crystal-clear waters and the colorful marine life visible beneath the surface.

As we got off the boat and stepped onto Koh Khai Nok, my friend and I were greeted by the crystal-clear waters of the island. There were not many tourists around, which made the island feel even more peaceful and serene.

We walked around the island and stumbled upon a photo corner, where we took several pictures with the beautiful scenery as our backdrop. The rocks on the island were peculiar but stunning, and we couldn't help but admire their unique shapes and textures.

After our swim, my friend and I took a stroll around Koh Khai Nok, exploring the various shops on the island. As we walked, we noticed that there were many cats lounging around the island. It was an unusual sight, but we later learned that Koh Khai Nok is known for its feline residents.

As soon as we started to give them food, the cats perked up and came out of their hiding spots to join us. They were happy to have some company and delicious treats to feast on. It was heartwarming to see how much the tourists cared for the cats on the island.

My friend and I decided to take a leisurely walk towards the back of Koh Khai Nok before it was time to leave for the next island, Koh Khai Nui. As we walked along the beach, we could see the beautiful rock formations and the crystal clear seawater. The sun was shining down on us, and we could feel the warmth of its rays on our skin.

As we got further from the front of the island, we noticed that the sand was not as fine and detailed as it was earlier. It was mixed with dead corals, making it a bit rough to walk on. We had to be careful not to hurt our feet on the sharp coral fragments. Despite this, we continued to walk along the beach, enjoying the beautiful scenery and the sound of the waves crashing against the shore.

We eventually came across a small area with some shade, and we decided to rest for a while. We sat down on the sand, feeling the warmth of the sun on our faces, and enjoyed the peacefulness of the island. It was nice to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy some time in nature.

Before we knew it, it was time to head back to the boat to go to our next destination, Koh Khai Nui. We got up from our spot and made our way back to the front of the island, where the boat was waiting for us. We got on the boat and set off towards our next adventure, excited to see what Koh Khai Nui had in store for us.

As my friend and other tourists snorkel, I sat on the boat enjoying the view and taking pictures of the crystal-clear waters. Koh Khai Nui is a small island, and it doesn't have a beach like Koh Khai Nok, but it's a popular spot for snorkeling because of the variety of fish and coral reefs. The boat stopped in the middle of the sea, and we were given about 30 minutes to explore the underwater world. As soon as my friend jumped into the sea, I saw fish swimming around her.

However, I didn't want to miss the chance to see the fish up close, so I asked the ship's attendant if I could feed them. He handed me a bag of bread, and I started throwing small pieces of bread into the sea. Within seconds, a large school of fish appeared, and I was amazed at the variety of colors and shapes. Some were small and silver, while others were larger and had orange stripes. I continued throwing bread, and more and more fish appeared, making it a beautiful sight to see.

After spending some time watching the fish and taking pictures, my friend and other tourists climbed back on the boat. We were all excited to head to the final destination, Koh Khai Nai. I couldn't wait to see what this island had in store for us.

The boat ride from Koh Khai Nui to Khai Island was short, taking only about 5 minutes. Once we arrived at Khai Island, we were greeted by a small but beautiful beach with crystal clear waters. The sand here was finer than on Koh Khai Nok and the water was a deeper blue color. It was truly a paradise-like setting.

We were given about an hour to explore this island, and my friend and I quickly made our way to the water. We were amazed by the variety of fish swimming around us. The water was a bit chilly, but it was still enjoyable to swim around in.

After a few hours, it was time to head back to the mainland. We boarded the speedboat and made our way back, enjoying the same stunning views of the Andaman Sea. As we approached the pier, the boat slowed down and we could see the bustling pier getting closer. The tour operator signaled for us to gather our belongings and prepare to disembark.

As we were leaving, the tour operator's staff put up a beautifully framed photo of our group taken during our trip to Khai Island. It was a great souvenir to have, and many of us purchased a copy to take home with us. I decided to buy mine with a frame, so it would be ready to display when I got home. It cost me 200 baht, but it was worth it to have such a great reminder of our fun day trip.
